The motor's input power is the electrical power consumed by a motor when it operates.

Most electric utilities and their meters measure and bill electrical power in metric units of
kilowatts (kW). Output Power. The motor's output power is the mechanical power it
produces at the motor shaft to drive the load.

How do you find the kW of a motor?

Multiply the motor voltage by the full-load current. The result is in watts. Divide watts by
1,000 to give kilowatts. For example, 230 volts x 20 amps = 4,600 watts; 4,600 watts
divided by 1000 = 4.6 kilowatts

What is difference between HP and kW?

. To convert kilowatts to horsepower, we multiply the number of kilowatts by 1.34. The
result is that 80 kilowatts is roughly equivalent to 107 horsepower.

How do I calculate kW?

Method 2 Calculating Kilowatt Hours from Amps and Voltage
1. Find the amps rating on your appliance. Some appliance labels do not list watts. ...
2. Find the voltage in your region. ...
3. Multiple amps and volts together. ...
4. Multiply by hours used per day. ...
5. Divide by 1000. ...
6. Multiply to find the kilowatt hours for a larger time period.

Power Factor:

The ratio between the VA (i.e. rms volts time rms amps) and Watts is called the power factor
PF. In other words, volt-amps x power factor = watts. Similarly,KVA*PF = KW, ... This is
because VA considers the peak of both current and voltage, without taking into account if
they happen at the same time or not.
