Install all the nuts and lock washers from around the nozzle head

Install mechanical seal

Note : Makesure the shaft is clean and free of burrs so seal sleeve will
slide freely over shaft becarefull lifting the mechanical seal.
adjustmen impeller
Prior to adjusment,ensure the setting collar on the mechanical seal is
loose and unattached to pump shaft.The pump half coupling
(530)and adjusting plate (532)must be in place on the pump
shaft.(see suctional drawing).Be sure that the pump half coupling key
11 (676)is installed.the spacer (538)must be bolted to the drive half
coupling (529).The adjusting plate (532)and the pump half coupling Hand tools Bolt and nut worn out,hand tools slip Ispect bolt and nut before installing,use proper tool
(530)must not be bolted to the spacer (538).this allows pump
impellers(176)to rest on the case seat.
Note :if unable to turn adjusting Plate (532)by hand,then remove and
check treads for demage.
While holding pump coupling (530)rotate adjusment (532)until gap
between faces of adjusting plate (532) and spacer (538) equal the
12 impeller lift shown on the pump name plate (the name plate is Hand tools Bolt and nut worn out,hand tools slip work with carefully
mounted on the nozle head ).use filler geuge,hex key or other
suitable item of proper thickness.
Turn adjusting plate (532)so bolt holes will line up with nearest bolt
13 holes in the pump half coupling(530). Can couse injury work with carefully

Insert Two(20 of the coupling bolt 180 Degrees apart and tighten

spacer (538)and the adjusting plate(532).
insert the other two(2)coupling bolt and tighten all four (4)bolt
securaly.see attached shaft T.I.R drawing.Indicated the pump shaft 1
inch above the mechanical seal (taking care not to force the shaft
radialy ).for vertical motors the folowing aplies.For two pole runing
speed(3000/3600RPM)The T.I.R limit is 0.002 inch (0.05mm).For 4
pole running speed (1500/1800RPM)and slower the T.I.R limit is
0.004inch(0.10mm).
Note: There are literally dozens of make‐up combination for coupling
with either then 8‐ hole adjusting plate or the 4‐hole adjusting
plate.if the roundout exceed these limit ,then remove thefour Hand tools Bolt and nut worn out,hand tools slip Inspect bolt and nut before installing,use proper tool and work carefully
coupling bolt (deskribed in item 15 and 16)and rotate the spacer
16 (538)180 degres.reinsert and tighten the bolt for steps 15and 16 and
recheck the roout above thhe mechanical seal.if the run out stell
exceeds the limit,the remove the boltand rotate spacer or one of of

the coupling hubs. p

is for duty condition .for any other condition ,check drive for sign of
over load.this done by checking by amperage drawn against full load
amperage by on motor name plate. if the motor being overloaded
,the impeller might be rubbing on the case.using prosedur previously
outlined rise impellers until unit is operating properly
Mechanical seal should be adjusted per specific seal
instructions.attach coupling guard to coper windows in the nozzle
head.
Conect the suction and discharge piping so that no strain is

transmited to the pump.
Check the pump for free shaft rotation.when all is in order the pump
barrel is filled with liguid by opening the suction valve.Spaces not
vented by removing pipe plugs from the vent taps or by opening
valves and vent to an appropriate location.Start the pump with

discharge valve partially open.Donot operate the pump under closed
discharge without by‐passing some of liquid to the suction vessel.
Test running the pump ,check running condition and vibration
