LEARNING EXPERIENCE
The following is the details of the work that I carried in the firm for 4 working weeks.
I. Week one
The first week started with a brief introduction about the firm and how the employees are to
maintain discipline in the company’s premises. Mr. Rakshan, reporting manager briefed me
about all the norms and regulations under which the company works and also the timings that
I need to follow for the next 4 working weeks. Being late for work was not entertained by the
firm. He then went ahead and introduced me to the team that I would be a part of for the 4
weeks. The team head then took on the job of introducing me to how the department
functions in the firm and the main projects that they are currently dealing with.
During the second week I got used to the working environment of the firm. I found myself
talking to everyone in the team and also made efforts to talk to the employees of the other
departments as well.
The marketing and the sales department had to start the week with a field visit. Being a part of
the marketing and sales department I was asked to accompany my reporting manager and few
more colleagues to Mysore, Kolar (KGF), Nanjangud to meet with the raw material suppliers and
also to see various possible expansion possibilities of buyers in and around that region.
The fourth week started off with my reporting manager asking me about how I feel working
in the firm and also if the rest of the team are friendly and helpful to me.
Strengths:
Each business needs to evaluate its internal strength and weakness. The business does
not have to correct all its weakness nor should gloat about all its strength. The question is
whether business should limit itself to those opportunities where it possesses the required
strength or whether it might have to acquire or develop certain strength. Some of its strengths
are:
Good established plant
Adopted highly advanced technologies
Multi skilled work force with an adoptability to change
The company has maintained its commitment till date to both its customers as well as
suppliers
Follow latest quality standards
The company has good Distribution network
Good employer and employee relationship
It is a competitive price.
Weaknesses:
Sometimes a business does poorly not because its department lacks the strength, but
because they do not work together. Some of their weakness is
Production plant is far from city thereby increasing transportation charges
Opportunities:
Threats:
