The Karnataka Co-operative Oilseeds Growers Federation Limited (KOF), the Agency

Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act. The project, which was inspired by the Anand Model
of Milk Co-operatives, is designed to create an integrated Co-partite System of production,
procurement, processing of Oilseeds and marketing of edible oil and its bi-products.

This project aimed at establishing a direct link between the producer and the consumer by
eliminating middlemen. Village level primary co-operative societies were organized by
making the oilseeds growers as members in turn these primary co-operative societies became
the members of the apex body at the state level till June 1990.

During the second phase of the project the structure has been re-organized to a three tier
cooperative structure with the village level Oilseeds Growers' Cooperative societies affiliated
to Regional Unions organized at the district level and in turn the Regional Unions have been
affiliated to the state level Federation.

Weekly report

The following is the details of the work that I carried in the firm for 4 working weeks.

I. Week one
The first week started with a brief introduction about the firm and how the employees are to
maintain discipline in the company’s premises. Mr. Rakshan, reporting manager briefed me
about all the norms and regulations under which the company works and also the timings that
I need to follow for the next 4 working weeks. Being late for work was not entertained by the
firm. He then went ahead and introduced me to the team that I would be a part of for the 4
weeks. The team head then took on the job of introducing me to how the department
functions in the firm and the main projects that they are currently dealing with.

II. Week two

During the second week I got used to the working environment of the firm. I found myself
talking to everyone in the team and also made efforts to talk to the employees of the other
departments as well.

III. Week three

The marketing and the sales department had to start the week with a field visit. Being a part of
the marketing and sales department I was asked to accompany my reporting manager and few
more colleagues to Mysore, Kolar (KGF), Nanjangud to meet with the raw material suppliers and
also to see various possible expansion possibilities of buyers in and around that region.

IV. Week four

The fourth week started off with my reporting manager asking me about how I feel working
in the firm and also if the rest of the team are friendly and helpful to me.

USHA fans placed bulk orders of the de-greasing chemicals without prior notice. The team
was on their feet to make smooth and fast sales. The team did not include me in the major
sales working as the buyer of the product was a reputed company and the order was huge.
