Commercial Ion Exchangers

For up-to-date information on the high number of ion exchange resins, look at the web-
site of François de Dardel (http://dardel.info/IX/AllResins.php). The website includes
an exhaustive list of nearly all current and obsolete ion exchange resins from the year
2000 to present.
The general pH ranges of functionality for each type of ion exchange resin is listed
in Table A1. Most metal chelation resins are designed to have higher selectivity versus
typical ion exchange resins in challenging conditions (Tables A2A–A20B).

Note: The list of values in the table removal capacity of trace organic contaminants is a significant function
of influent conditions, especially pH, contaminant concentration, and competitor concentration. Thus, capacity
values for continuous removal of trace contaminants should be determined by rapid small-scale column tests
(RSSCTs) using representative influent.
