Abstract:

This study examined the effects of Short Term Memory on two variables; Gender and Intervention.
Students of IOBM and other universities were tested on both of these variables. Students were given a
task of rememorized an eight-letter list in a certain amount of time. Some of them were an Experimental
Group and some of them in a Control Group. We split our sample into ten males and ten females, to
predict that Female had the best recall memory.

On the other hand, the participants that were studied on Gender had significant outcome because we were
collected the same result as (Hermann and Crawford (1992)); Female Memory performance is excellent in
list type of things, which is called as a feminine memory. However, participants in an Experimental
Group have had a significant outcome. Suggesting that short term memory between genders is different
because of Female is thought to be able to hold more items of verbal information in Short Term Memory
at once. Although, some researches suggest that men have advantages in specific subtypes of short term
memory, related to spatial visualization.
