MENTAL DISORDERS
1.) EATING DISORDERS
Most common examples of this is anorexia and bumilia nervosa.
Other food related disorders are avoidant/ restrictive food intake disorders, body image disorders, etc.
a.) ANOREXIA
People with this have a real fear of weight gain and a distorted view of their body size .
(they tend to eat small amount of food dieting, fasting, or excessive exercise.)
b.) BULIMIA
It is similar to anorexia but in this people binge eat (eat to excess)

2.) ANXIETY DISORDERS


Include phobic disorders, panic disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorders.
Characterized by fear, anxiety symptoms, are fainting, sweating, palpitation, chest pain, and dizziness.

3.) MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDER


Caused by heredity, environmental factors and stressors.

4.) BIPOLAR DISORDER


Formerly called as manic depressive disorder.
They are hyperactive and with high level of energy.

5.) CONDUCT DISORDERS


Characterized by repeated pattern of behavior in which basic rights of others are violated.
a.) JUVENILE DELIQUENCY
Refers to an illegal act of a minor

6.) PERSONALITY DISORDERS

Paranoid personality disorder


Demonstrate a pattern of distrust and suspiciousness on the motives people around them.
Antisocial personality disorders
Manifested by individual’s disregard or violation of the rights of others.

Histrionic personality disorders


Individual’s who show excessive emotionality and attention seeking behaviors.

Narcissistic personality disorders


Exhibit a pattern of grandiosity. They are self centered .
Avoidant personality disorders
Individual’s show a pattern of social inhibition. They prefer to be alone.

Dependent personality disorders


Individual’s demonstrate pattern of submissive and clinging behavior. They cannot work alone.

Obsessive-compulsive personality disorders


Manifested by a pattern of preoccupation with orderliness. They are sensitive.

7.) SCHIZOPHRENIA AND OTHER PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS


Means “split mind” usually characterized by deterioration in personal. Loss of contract in reality.
8.) SUBSTANCE-RELATED DISORDERS OR ADDICTION
A drug is a substance such as alcohol, caffeine, marijuana.

9.) COMPUTER ADDICTION


Excessive use of computers or internet.
