EDT 180: Construction Module Project {Tata Travel}

Objective

Tata Travel makes traveling fun and inexpensive for students who seek adventure

on a budget. This application bridges travel sites directed at students,

accommodations, scholarships and travel opportunities in one application that

allows students to search based on interest and cost. Although it doesn’t craft the

travel experience logistically, we will provide destinations on a budget and present

tips and tools from other websites that already exist. The hassle of attempting to

find different flights at a cheap price, hotel booking and itinerary while on a trip

can make for a stressful experience. This app puts everything in one place for one

specific target audience: College age students.

Target Audience

This application is created with the intent to make traveling as a college student a

simple and enjoyable experience. With that said, this is directed at college age

individuals who are looking for opportunities to travel, funding for trips and

location logistics or accommodations on a budget. Many websites or travel sites

cater to the needs of working or retired individuals who are likely out of college
and have the ability to seek out travel opportunities. Users of this application will

find resources for students on a budget, all in one place.

Outcomes & Benefits

This application could potentially revolutionize what it means to travel as a

student. It will not only open the door to students accessing scholarships that don’t

reach a large audience, it will also provide life-changing opportunities to low

income and struggling students who may never have a chance to travel in part

because of their socioeconomic status. Travel does not discriminate; this

application reinforces that knowledge.

Description of Content

Tata Travel will incorporate photos from student’s previous travel opportunities,

illustrations of countries students can travel to, animation of countries in miniature

sizes as buttons that can be clicked and expanded, and many videos from featured

programs and websites. The intention behind this is to make this interactive, while

still being user friendly. This is meant to be utilized by all students, regardless of

how tech-savvy they may be. This is definitely an application that will allow

students to find the best options for them while concentrating on other things.

 User will click onto the application and will chose desired subcategory from

the drop-down selection in the corner of the app

 User will select which subcategory best fits their need and will continue onto

the page designated for their selection

 User will either be provided with information relating to their choice, or will

be directed to the website that sponsors the information (flights, hotel

booking, ticket purchasing, college specific scholarships)

 At the end, user will have access to reviews, pictures experiences of other

students and reflections from past or current users.
