1. Select a job you aspire for, in an organization for which you would like to work. It would be useful
to select positions and organizations, where you expect to join post-MBA, or in two years’ time
2. Conduct a job analysis by making use of all available secondary and primary data. For primary
data, get in touch with a person currently working in that position / HR manager of the firm / Line
manager of such a personnel to know the requirements of the job, and critical incidents
3. Conduct a competency analysis to identify the key competencies needed for the job, and the
required proficiency level for each
4. Based on your analysis, prepare a job description and specification for the position
5. Prepare and submit a report (word / PDF) on your findings. Your report should have the following
sections:
Introduction
The position and the firm
Job analysis: methodology adopted
Competency mapping: Methodology adopted
Job Description and specification
KSAs you need to develop to be ready for your dream job
Appendix: name and contact details of your respondent, brief transcript of the responses
