GUIDELINES

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

A. Category
1. Category A: Grades 4-6
2. Category B: Grades 7-9
3. Category C: Grades 10-12
B. Eligibility
1. The contest is open to all bonafide students of LCCD.
2. In Category B: Grades 7-9 and Category C: Grades 10-12 each
participating section is allowed to send a team consisting of two (2) members
per team.
3. In Category A: Grade 4-6 they can have three (3) teams consisting of three
(3) members per team.
4. The participants shall wear their proper school uniform.
5. The contest will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
a. Category A: at Grade 7- Endurance room
b. Category B: at Grade 7- Compassion room
c. Category C: at Grade 7 Humility room
6. Sections who wish to participate must properly and completely accomplish
the Registration Form attached herewith.
7. Registration is until Friday, July 26, 2019.
C. Scope
The questions for this competition will be formulated from the following
categories, which are similar to the themes/topics used in the Nutrition Month
Celebration 2019

1. General Knowledge
2. T.L.E
3. Science
4. Health and wellness
D. In Competition
1. Each team shall have 1/8 illustration board, chalk, and eraser.
2. There will be three (3) components in the competition namely: Elimination
Round, Semi-Final Round and the Final Round.
3. The elimination round has ten (10) questions worth 2 points, the semi-final
round has ten (10) questions worth 3 points and in the final round has ten
(10) questions worth 5 points.
4. In the elimination round, only the top five (5) groups will qualify to the next
(semi-final) round.
5. At the end of semi-final round, only the top three (3) groups will move to the
final round.
6. The questions will be read by the quizmaster twice.
 7. After the second (2nd) reading, the Quizmaster shall say “go”, only then the
groups be allowed to write their answers. Automatically, the (10) second
time-limit will begin with the word “go” by the Quizmaster.
8. After the time-limit, the whistle is blown by the time-keeper. The groups
must stop writing and must raise their answer boards.
9. The Quizmaster shall read and verify the groups answer.
10. The group who gets the highest number of points is automatically declared
the champion or the runner-up as the case may be.
11. All teams are expected to report promptly at the registration booth at the
event venue. Failure to report at the said booth 15 minutes after the
scheduled start of the qualifying round forfeits the team’s chance to join the
competition.
