Gratitude Write Up

Your Name: Shianne Evans Date: 11/19/2019

1. At the close of keeping a gratitude journal on D2L, what have you learned?
Doing the gratitude journals over the last month has helped me learn to enjoy the little things. I
have never really taken the time to take step back and think about what I am grateful for, and this
has helped me learn to have a little more of a positive view on life. I learned that sometimes you
don’t have big things to be thankful for every single day, but it’s important to find some
positivity and joy in your day even if it is just what you had to eat.
2. How does it feel to you when you look back over what you have written/posted?
I think it is really interesting to look back on my gratitude posts because it is almost like a daily
journal of positivity. It makes me feel happy that I was able to find joy in small things and other
situations that I may have not thought about so positively before. It also made me happy to see
what other students are grateful for.
3. Have you noticed any common themes after reviewing your gratitude posts? Please
describe….
I think the most common theme for my gratitude posts is food. I love trying new foods with my
friends and enjoy a wide variety of foods. Another common theme is being grateful for my
support system, including my friends, family, and roommates.
4. What have you learned from reviewing and responding to other’s posts?
By reviewing and responding to other student’s posts, I was able to get to know them a little
more. It is interesting because my roommate also participated in this activity so it was nice to
see what she was grateful for as well.
