ABSTRACT

The study aimed to determine the impact of job-related

stress to teaching performance of the teachers in public

elementary schools in Bustos district. Specifically, the study

sought to determine the profile of the respondents be described

in terms of Age, Gender, Civil status, Educational background,

Length of service and Designation. It also discusses how the

Job- related stress of teachers and the performance of the

Teachers.

The study also tested the significant relationship between

the job-related stress of teachers and their performance.

The researcher utilized descriptive approach. Descriptive

research is used to obtain information concerning the current

status of the phenomena with respect to variables or conditions

in a situation. Survey questionnaire is the major instrument

used in gathering data, it consist of three parts regarding the

profile of the teacher, job stress of the teachers and their

performance.

The subjects of the study were the teachers and school

heads from the nine (9) selected public elementary schools in

the Division of Bulacan, Bustos District year 2017-2018. It has

a total of one-hundred eighty-nine (189) teachers respondents

from the selected elementary schools.


Statistical treatment was utilized to discern the results

of this study.

Frequency, Percentage and Rank distribution were used to

determine the profile of the respondents in terms Age, Gender,

Civil status, Educational background, Length of service and Job

Designation.

Mean was used to determine performance of the Teachers, and

their job-related stress.

Based on the results of the study, it was determined that

dealing with aggressive/ violent behaviour of the students is

the most job-related stress teachers experiencing. Also, from

the study, the data shows that teaching is a stressful job, but

most of the stress comes from the different factors and not

primarily on the teaching part itself.

Based on the conclusion drawn, the following conclusions it

was recommended since, handling aggressive/violent behavior is

the most stressful job-related work for a teacher, the school

should show support for the teacher by helping them in outmost

way they can. The government should also ensure the continuous

seminars and training for teacher to maintain the satisfactory

performance they posses.
