I. COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to prepare graduate students to integrate technology into the
curriculum and will focus on the effective use of technology in teaching – learning process
and explore the essential elements needed for the acquisition of knowledge and
competencies to promote 21st century learning skill by engaging them in thoughtful
dialogue and activities that promote 21st century ideas and understanding of students’
diverse, digital, and global learning needs.

II. OBJECTIVES:

Teaching Learning Tools and Technology is structured to offer graduate students


opportunities to:

1. Practice and expand personal use of various kinds of hardware and software.
2. Use technology in the design of curriculum for constructivist teaching and
learning.
3. Apply learning theory to evaluate quality technology experiences.
4. Make positive decisions about social and ethical issues involving technology.
5. Explore new and emerging educational technologies.

1. Effects and Impact of Technology on Learning


2. Development of Computer Technology: Its Implications for Instruction
3. Ethical, Legal and Social Equity Issues Pertaining to the Impact of Technology.
4. Multimedia-Learning Options
5. Criteria to Evaluate and Select blogs, websites, educational software.
6. Strategies for continuous updating of computer literacy for teacher and students
7. Ways to Differentiated Instruction with Technology
8. Ways to Teach 21st Century Critical and Creative Thinking Skills
9. Ways to Utilize Social Media to Communicate Learning.
10. Access 21st Century Tools, such as digital media and technology, to seek,
manage and evaluate information.
11. Ways to Communicate in order to increase learning and decrease the cultural
divide for our 21st century learners
12. Developing an Understanding of 21st Century Skills that Promote High-Level
Thinking and Learning
