Teaching Dates and Time Quarter 1ST QUARTER

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate understanding of different techniques to separate mixtures

B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to separate desired materials from common and local products

C. Learning Competencies/Objectives Enumerate techniques in separating mixtures such as decantation, evaporation, filtering, sieving, and using magnet - S6MT-Id-f-2
Write the LC code for each

IV. PROCEDURES

A. Reviewing previous lesson or Show these pictures to the

presenting the new lesson
children and let them identify
these as uniform mixtures or
non-uniform mixtures
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Play a game
Guess the hidden meaning of
the pictures shown
“4 pics 1 word”

Answer:
(cooking rice)

After they guess the word, ask

them:
- have you tried cooking
rice?
- How do you do that?
C. Presenting examples/instances for Let the pupils do Activity 4.3
the new lesson
“Let it Sink and Separate” on
their teacher-made worksheet.

D. Discussing new concepts and Pupils will present their output

practicing new skills #1
on the activity. The teacher will
give feedback about the result

E. Discussing new concepts and

practicing new skills #2

F. Developing mastery The teacher will discuss that

(Leads to Formative Assessment 3)
removing water from rice is
called decantation. Since rice is
insoluble in water and it sinks
you can remove water by
spilling the water from the
container leaving the rice in it.

Decantation is also applied in

immiscible liquids such as water
and oil. Water is denser that oil
so oil floats. You can remove oil
from water through
decantation.
G. Finding practical applications of Show other kinds of materials
concepts and skills in daily living
found inside their house or
within their locality that can be
separated through decantation.
e.g.: washing mongo beans in
water, oil from water, sand from
water.
H. Making generalizations and Story Wheel
abstractions about the lesson The teacher will ask the pupils
to give their summary of what
they have learned. The teacher
will write their answers on a
wheel pinned on the board. The
pupils will read their summary
after.

I. Evaluating learning Let the children list down five

(5) other materials which can be
separated through decantation

J. Additional activities for application

for remediation

V. REMARKS

VI.REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in
the evaluation.

B. No. of learners who require

additional activities for remediation
who scored below 80%.

C. Did the remedial lessons work? No.

of learners who have caught up with
the lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation

E. Which of my teaching strategies

worked well? Why did these work?

F. What difficulties did I encounter

which my principal or supervisor can
help me solve?

G. What innovation or localized

materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
