2. IMPERATIVE SENTENCE
Imperative Sentence: is a sentence containing commands and requests where we want
someone or a group to do something. In the phrase of the military command, usually a
subject like “you” is often omitted because it assumes that the ruled person already
understands that the command is intended for him.
Examples of imperative sentences contain commands:
- Don’t touch the wall!

- Hurry up!
- Don’t be late!
- Jump to the boat right now!
- Silence!
- Wake up!
- Go away!
- Make a circle!
- Be prepared!
- Get down!

Examples of imperative sentences contain request:

- Give me more rice, please.

- Please, accept my report.

- Please, give me a second chance, sir.
- Please, stop the car.
- Walk with me, please.
3. PRONUNCIATION
Pronunciation is a board term used to describe a number of aspects of producing the
appropriate sounds in the language targeted. Most people think it refers to only the
separate, identifiable sounds of words, but it covers more than just that. As well as
the sounds there are also the sentence tunes, and the use of pitch and loudness to
indicate importance or strong feeling.
B. WRITING AND READING SKILL
1. MEMO
A memo is a note to a group of people telling them to do something, or informing
them of a new policy. Example of reasons to send out a memo could be:
 The proconsul sending a reminder that all the armament should be placed in a

box.
 A leader reminding the army student to warm up the food at 6 p.m.
 A leader explain new rules in the dormitory.
3 things to remember before writing a memo:
 Make sure you have a crazily-easy-to-understand request before writing a

memo.
 A memo should convey all the information in the smallest amount of text
possible.
 Repeat and bold the action people should take at the end (in one sentence).
Characteristics of a great memo:
 Very first section reminds the reader what action to take.

 Main message is super short and to-the-point.

 Very last section re-reminds the reader what action to take

3. Pronunciation
The English Consonants
1. Bilabial Plosives /p, b/
The soft palate being raised and the nasal resonator shut off, the primary obstacle
to the air-stream is provided by the closure of the lips. Lung air is compressed
behind this closure, during which stage the vocal cords are held wide apart for /p/,
but may vibrate for all or part of the compression stage for /b/ according to its
situation in the utterance. The air escapes with force when the lip closure is
released.
