in the Era of Education 4.0

Abstract
This study aims to describe efforts to preserve the value of local wisdom in the study of
Indonesian and local literature in the Era of Education 4.0. This qualitative research uses
descriptive analysis through the study of documentation. Conclusions from the results of the
study, that in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 there has been disruption in the field of
education, including in learning Indonesian and regions in schools. This requires schools and
teachers to create creativity and innovation on the five pillars, (1) Teacher competence, (2)
curriculum and learning reorientation, (3) Student activities, (4) School facilities and targets,
and (5) Digital literary teaching materials . The five pillars need to be linked with efforts to
preserve the value of local wisdom, hence schools and teachers can present efforts to strengthen
the education of national character and cultural values, whereas these human values are not
taught by machines.
