Reconstruction of Existing ROB on Gold Coin Circle


to Gandhi Circle at Ta. Vapi, Dist Valsad as Part of
DFCC Project.

INTRODUCTION
Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of india is undertaking planning, development, and
mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the Dedicated
Freight Corridors. As part of that, Level crossings are being removed and ROB/RUB are being
constructed in lieu of that.
However at Particular location existing ROB is already there which is having less vertical clearance
then required for Freight Corridor. So its need to be reconstructed.
Currently ROB Approach start from Gold Coin Circle (Towards Daman Approach) and Ends at Gandhi
Circle(Towards NH-8 Approach). ROB width is varying from 9 to 12m at different sections.
At present Lot of Traffic Jams Happening due to Only one entry point and exit point of ROB and due
to vast commercial, Residential and industrial development in surrounding area.
Traffic Study was carried out. Summary of same is shown herewith

IRCON has submitted Proposal for the same for approval to Valsad(R&B) Division. Administrative
Approval of amounting 14.65 Cr for Railway Portion was approved, while approach portion approval
is pending

Proposal 1
Demolition of Existing two Lane ROB and Reconstruction in same length with four lane ROB
In this proposal same length of ROB as of existing ROB is proposed with Four Lane Configuration. Its
note to be noted that only one entry and exit point for the ROB will not help in decongestion of traffic.

Proposal 2
Demolition of Existing two Lane ROB and Reconstruction with Four Lane ROB with 4 Slip Road
to minimise traffic issue
In this proposal Four Lane ROB is proposed for through movement from NH side to Daman. Four Slip
Road (2 Towards Daman Side+ 2 Towards NH Side) have been proposed to diverse the traffic at
important junctions.

In Addition to Proposal 2, Limited height Subway need to be provided for movement of People of town
for market area ie station road area so that they don’t need to extra travel the whole ROB

Demolition of Existing two Lane ROB and Reconstruction with Four Lane ROB upto Existing
ROB length and Two Lane ROB thereafter
In this proposal Four Lane ROB is to be constructed From Gold Coin Circle to Gandhi Circle(i.e
existing ROB) and then eccentric two lane ROB may be constructed so that if need arise in future it
may be widened to Four Lane ROB.
