STEM strand is an educational program developed to prepare primary and secondary

students for college and graduates’ study in the fields of science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics. However, it will have a real impact in which many
professionals believe. Stem needs to be emphasized while the students are still in
elementary school. Otherwise, theses students may lack the basic skills necessary to
learn more complex ideas in the STEM strand. In this study conducted in Don Bosco
College Canlubang, grade 11 STEM students’ perceptions were gathered and analyze to
understand their reasons for continuing to pursue their track despite going for a course
in college out of track’s field of expertise. Findings revealed that who want to choose
another track if opportunities arise is Yes, there are opportunities in HUMMS and ABM
that STEM doesn’t have, but STEM track is still the best choice. Based on theses results,
the researchers recommend to the student who want to choose another track is the
knowledge, good future, and for better position. The researchers recommend who will
choose another track if opportunities arise they were those who wanted to expand their
knowledge and experience with the tracks and courses in college they have chosen to
pursue.
