4. FIRST AID MEASURES

EYES : Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for two to three minutes. Remove
any contact lenses and continue flushing for 15 minutes. Get medical attention

SKIN : Remove contaminated clothing & immediately wash affected area with plenty
of soap and water. Seek medical attention if necessary. Wash contaminated
clothing before reuse.

INGESTION : Contact local poison control center or physician immediately. Do not induce
vomiting unless instructed so by a physician. If vomiting occurs, keep head
lower than hips to help prevent aspiration. Get medical attention immediately.

INHALATION : Remove to fresh air and supply oxygen if breathing is difficult. Seek medical
attention immediately.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

FLASHPOINT AND METHOD : 4.4° C, 39.9 ° F (Closed Cup)

FLAMMABLE LIMITS : 1.1 to 13.5 % by volume in air.

AUTOIGNITION TEMPERATURE : > 371 ° C, > 699.8° F

GENERAL HAZARD : Dangerous fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame. Vapor can
flow along surfaces to distant ignition sources and flash back.

EXTINGUISHING : Carbon Dioxide, Dry Chemical, Foam and Water Spray.
MEDIA

HAZARDOUS : Oxides of carbon and noxious fumes.

COMBUSTION PRODUCTS

EXPLOSION HAZARDS : Above flash point, vapor-to-air mixtures are explosives if within
the flammable limits noted above. Contact with strong oxidizers
may cause fire or explosion.
FIRE FIGHTING : Wear full protective equipment and a self-contained breathing
EQUIPMENTS apparatus with the full face piece operated in the pressure demand
mode. Water spray may be used to keep fire-exposed containers
cool until they can be evacuated.

SENSITIVE TO STATIC : YES

DISCHARGE

HAZARDOUS : Hazardous polymerization will not occur.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

COMMENTS:
Ventilate area of leak or spill. Remove all ignition sources. Wear appropriate
personal protective equipment. Contain and recover liquid when possible. Use non-
sparking tools and equipment. Collect liquid in an appropriate container or absorb with an
inert material i.e. sawdust, dry sand, universal binder, acid binder or cloth etc., and place in
a chemical waste container. DO NOT FLUSH TO SEWER. If leak or spill has ignited, use
water spray to disperse any vapor and flush spill away from personnel or other ignitable
materials. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading “DISPOSAL”.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

GENERAL PROCEDURES:
Protect containers against physical damage. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location,
away from any area where a fire hazard may be acute. Containers should be bonded and grounded for
transfer to avoid static sparks. Do not permit smoking in storage areas. Use only non-sparking tools
and equipment around the liquid. Empty containers may be hazardous from residual liquid and vapor.
Observe all warnings and precautions listed.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

EXPOSURE GUIDELINES :OSHA HAZARDOUS COMPONENTS(29CFR 1910.1200)

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTS

EYES & FACE : Wear safety glasses with side shields or goggles when handling this
material.

SKIN : Wear impervious gloves and appropriate protective clothing as

required to minimize contact with skin.
RESPIRATORY : A half-face organic vapor respirator may be worn for protection up-to ten or
full-face respirator for up fifty times the exposure limit or the maximum use
concentration specified by the appropriate regulatory agency or respirator
supplier - which ever is lowest. For emergencies where the exposure levels are
unknown, use a full face supplied air respirator.
