An Inspirational Poem
Live….Laugh…and Love
By John McLeod
Live well dear friends
In all you do,
Tho’ paths be old
Or paths be new,
But to yourself
Be ever true,
Live well!
Laugh often friends
Tho’ passing years
Bring, sometimes, smiles
And, sometimes, tears,
For mirth forever
Warms and cheers
Laugh often!
Love much dear friends
For love will bring
The healing joy
And hope of Spring,
Where pain and fear may never dwell
Nor anguish touch….
And so Live well,
Laugh often too,
And more, dear friends,
Love much!
Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for your support of the Christopher Catanese Children’s Foundation.
We created this Foundation as a way to celebrate the life and spirit of our son
Christopher.

Our son was a charming young man who lived a beautiful life that was full
of endless possibilities. He laughed often with everyone and was loved by all.
Chris’s life was surrounded by magnificent family and friends who have always
been there for us in our time of need. Although Christopher is no longer with us
in presence, he is thought of and missed deeply every minute of every day.

This is our family’s third annual fundraiser. Each year, we are touched by the
support and help we receive from family and friends to make this event happen.
With the proceeds from our fundraisers the Foundation has been able to provide
financial assistance to individuals and organizations making a difference in the
lives of many children.

We believe that our outreach is a way for us to celebrate and honor Christopher
and his life in a positive, joyous way. Our goal is to help children in a ‘special’
manner to improve their lives, fulfill their hopes and dreams, and to make a
better world for them. When we see Christopher again, we want him to be proud
of the way all of us chose to revere his time on earth. We can never change
yesterday, but we can make a difference today in the lives of needy children in
Chris’s memory.

In this program book, we have included an overview of those who have received
funding from our foundation with a spotlight on three of the organizations. Our
annual recipients can be viewed on our website. As our Foundation matures, we
hope to make an even bigger impact in the future of children’s lives.

We are blessed to have supportive family

and friends who have helped to make this
fundraiser a success; without you this event
would not be possible. We sincerely thank you
for your participation and deeply appreciate
your support, generosity, and love.

Sincerely,
Peter II, MaryAnn, and Peter III

Spotlight on Three Recent CCCF Recipients

Be Like Brit Britney Gengel’s Poorest of the Poor Fund, Inc. - Rutland, MA

For the poorest of the poor, Be Like Brit is a nonprofit organization

dedicated to serving the children of Haiti. Be Like Brit will continue the
compassionate life and legacy of Britney Gengel by establishing a safe,
nurturing and sustainable orphanage in an environment where
children can grow, learn and thrive. Three hours before the
earthquake hit Haiti Britney sent this letter to her mom. “They
love us so much and everyone is so happy, they love what they
have and they work so hard to get no where and they are all so
appreciative….I want to move here and start an orphanage.”

The Miller/Tracy Children’s Foundation, Inc. - Waltham, MA

The Miller/Tracy Children’s Foundation,

Inc. was established in June of 2001. This
foundation was formed in memory of Elizabeth “Lizzy” Marie Tracy, her aunt, Kimberly Balboni-Miller and
her uncle, Carl “Chip” Miller. In July of 2000, Lizzy, Kim and Chip were returning from the Roger Williams
Zoo in Providence when they were involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident. The purpose of this foundation
is to financially assist families in meeting the needs of their children in various ways. The foundation will
assist in the educational development of a child by providing scholarships; the medical development of a
child by financially assisting with medical treatments; the well being of a child by assisting the family with
resources that may allow them to participate in extra-curricular activities such as sports, dance lessons, etc.
The foundation may assist directly to individual families or on a broader view by donating resources to other
organizations that assist in the development of all children.

ChildFund International – Richmond, VA

ChildFund International is inspired and driven by the potential that is

inherent in all children; the potential not only to survive but to thrive, to
become leaders who bring positive change for those around them. We
work in 31 countries, assisting approximately 15.2 million children and their family members, regardless of
race, creed or gender. Our distinctive approach focuses on working with children throughout their journey
from birth to young adulthood, as well as with families, local organizations and communities globally to
create the environments children need to thrive.
