Show Debate Letter
Madam:
In this manner, the performance standard for the second quarter of the tenth
grade, as prescribed in the K to 12 Curriculum Guide in English of the Department of
Education, is: The learner proficiently delivers an argumentative speech emphasizing
how to resolve conflicts among individuals or groups.
In the pursuit of carrying out what is outlined in the curriculum, we, Luv T. Butil
and Ricky June T. Espanueva, the English teachers of the grade ten classes – Saints
John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew – have agreed that for this quarter, our students will
be engaging themselves in a debate as their major performance task. Nevertheless, we
will be following the Modified Asian Parliamentary Debate Format. Hence, we are writing
this letter to ask permission from your good office to please allow us to conduct a Show
Debate at the Audio-Visual Room of this institution on Tuesday, October 08, 2019, 3:50
P.M. onwards.
Influenced by Albert Bandura’s Social Learning Theory, the said activity aims to
familiarize our grade ten students with the above format as the proposed activity will
showcase the debating prowess of our very own Marian Patrice Tasi, Jascha Maxine Dal,
Ushuaia Ira Marie Gallaron, Edelle Jana Capule, Stephen Rhey Booc, and Kaizan Abobo
– members of Holy Cross High School’s Debating Teams who bagged the 4th place in
the recently held 5th Bukidnon Inter-High School Parliamentary Debate Championship
(BIPDC) at Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
We look forward for your kindest consideration. Thank you and may God bless
us all.
Respectfully yours,
