CONSTRUCTION FIELDWORK (Topic 10)

What is fieldwork?
Three contents in which this term is used:
1. Survey
In doing land surveys, the measurement work on land and taking levels with dumpy level/auto level
or working with total station is described as fieldwork.
This work usually involves long tracking in difficult terrain with your team. Job is strenuous and
needs lots of tenacity and patience.
2. Quality Control at Projects
Control quality involves activities used to evaluate whether the product or service
meets quality requirements that are specified for the project. Quality control is very crucial in project
management because it ensures that everything is within the scope of the project planning.
3. Actual Construction Supervision

Some job of Construction Supervisor includes:


• Inspection of construction activities
• Testing on site or offsite (as necessary in-factory testing)
• Inspection of good and materials
• Review of construction submittals
• Verification of progress and interim payment requests
• Determination of financial construction quantities
• Preparation of monthly progress reports
• Maintenance of records
• Preparation of operation, maintenance and management manuals for the facilities constructed
under the project
