BYU-I students die in fatal accident

Two Brigham Young University-Idaho students died in a car accident Saturday on their way back to
school from visiting family members in British Columbia, Canada.

Benjamin Ho-Yan Yeung, 22, of Hong Kong was driving south on Interstate 15 near Dubois when
the 1995 Honda Passport sport utility vehicle he was driving drifted into the median, according to the
Idaho State Police.

Yeung over-corrected, the SUV crossed the southbound lane of traffic and overturned. It came to a
stop 100 feet west of the freeway.

Yeung's fiancee, Katharine Yu, 20, of Burnaby, British Columbia, was partially ejected from the
vehicle.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene. Both were wearing their seat belts.

Yeung was an off-track BYU-I student and Yu was enrolled for summer classes at the university.

The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
