EXPERIENTIAL ENTREPRENEURIAL LEARNING : GROUP


PROJECT TASK

SYNOPSIS

The Experiential Entrepreneurial Learning (EEL) is part of Fundamental Entrepreneurship Module,


for Malaysian Public Higher Learning Institution (HLIs) that gives a chance for student to apply all
entrepreneurship theories and concepts that they have learned into a real entrepreneurship or
business projects/activities.

The EEL covers 50% of the whole assessment for the subject BPK 40802/BDA 41002. In this
module students (in a group) are required to organize any one of the three options of business
project/activity. Each group is free to choose any suitable projects/activities.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the EEL is to:-


1) Enable students to organize real entrepreneurial projects/activities.

2) Investigate types of resources that can be used to plan and evaluate entrepreneurial
projects/activities.

3) Enable students apply entrepreneurship theory(s) and concepts that they learn in the class into
real entrepreneurship projects/activities

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the module, students should be able to:


1) Apply concept and process of entrepreneurship in identifying and evaluating business
opportunities for a real projects

2) Produce creative and innovative entrepreneurial idea

3) Execute entrepreneurial project / activities

4) Prepare relevant business reports

GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS

The students should follow the guidelines below :


1. Student are required to form groups ( 5 to 6 members only ).
2. Each group need to set up it own structure, including the leader, secretary and positions of all
members.
3. The group leader should determine the responsibility of the group members.
4. Each group needs to choose one option project/activities to organize.
5. The project/activity have to be approved by the lecturer.
6. The groups need to abide by the guidelines for each project/activity.
7. The groups have to provide their own materials,equipment and other necessities for their
business projects/activities.
8. The groups are not allowed to sublet their projects/activities to other parties. However, they
can get advice from other parties.
9. The groups need to submit final reports of the projects/activities according to the format given
by the lecturer.

A. GROUP PROJECT OPTIONS


Entrepreneurial Experiential Learning (EEL) projects/activities can be selected from the option
given :
1. Entrepreneurial Exploration Project
2. Entrepreneurship Carnival / Expo / Small Bisness Project
3. Event Management

EACH GROUP CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE OPTION ONLY

OPTION ONE : Entrepreneurial Exploration Project

Scope
1. This projects/activities aims to provide a better understanding of the theoretical foundations
of entrepreneurship and for students to personally experience what it takes to become an
entrepreneur by developing and implementing a simple business idea.
2. This project/activity emphasizes the (pre-) launch stage of new ventures.

Project Deliveriables
1. The group needs to choose one viable business idea (or more if posibble) product or services.
2. For products, they can choose to sell either online or offline. The product can be their own
products or products that are available in the market.
3. For services, they can choose simple services that can be done in the institution or any area
close to the institution.
4. The group needs to gain income by selling product or services from Week 2 to Week 14.
5. The TARGET NET PROFIT is RM 1000 for each groups.
6. The group needs to document all activities related to the project/activity.
7. The group need to present progress report to the lecturer.
8. The group needs to write and present a final report using the given format, covering all
activities that they have done.

OPTION TWO : Entrepreneurship Carnival / Expo / Small Bisness Project

Scope
1. This projects/activities aims to show the start up stage of a simple business.
2. Student will get better understanding of the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship and
personally experience what it takes to become an entrepreneur by developing and running a
simple business idea.

Project Deliveriables
1. The institution will organize an entrepreneurship carnival/expo on week 14 that will involved
all students.
2. The group need to choose one viable business idea (or more if possible) product or services.
3. The group needs to gain income by selling product or services from Week 2 to Week 14.
4. All groups are required to sell their products or services during the carnival.
5. The TARGET NET PROFIT is RM 1000 for each groups.
6. All groups are required to plan their projects/activities independently, including selecting the
products, conducting operations and carrying out marketing strategies.
7. The group needs to document all activities related to the project/activity.
8. The group need to present progress report to the lecturer.
9. The group needs to write and present a final report using the given format, covering all
activities that they have done.

OPTION THREE : Event Management

Scope
1. This project applies the entrepreneurship process to the creation of and generate income from
events, such as trainings/seminars/conference/talk show and etc.
2. This projects/activities aims to expose students to relate overall entrepreneurial theory and
processes to see potential business from event management projects/activities.
3. Events can deliver beneficial impacts and outcomes both for the students and the host
community.

Project Deliveriables
1. Maximum number of group member are 6 participant
2. The group needs to plan and organize the event independently anytime within the semester.
3. The group can run any number of event (if needed) to achive the target
4. Before running the event, the group has to prepare a proposal that covers the financial
analysis of the event, to ensure the project is viable and the group will generate income from
the event.
5. The group needs to gain income by conducting the event and the TARGET NET PROFIT is
RM 1000.
6. The group needs to document all activities related to the project/activity.
7. The group need to present progress report to the lecturer.
8. The group needs to write and present a final report using the given format, covering all
activities that they have done.
