LESSON PLAN- Count on me- Bruno Mars

Objectives

General Objectives

Practice listening comprehension, oral expression and first conditional

Specific Objectives

 To introduce and practice first conditional sentences.


 To practice listening for specific information.
 To practice taking notes.
 To practice speaking
 To value friendship.

Topic

Friendship. Students will talk about their best friends and will analyse what is a good
friend for them.

Previous knowledge

At this point, students know the present simple and the future using will. They also
know adjectives to describe personality and appearance.

60 minutes

Material

Handouts, lyrics, song, computer, speakers, pens, whiteboard and markers

Instruction

Warm up

10’ Students discuss about the meaning of the title of the song.
Presentation/ Practice

15’ Teacher gives a brief introduction of the first conditional on the white board. Give
out the handout and do exercise 2.

5’ listen to the song and check.

5’ Students discuss the meaning of the words on exercise 4.

Production

15’ students tell their partners about their best friend. It’s is important that they pay
attention and take notes if necessary because they will have to retell it to practice 3r
person singular.

10’ Students describe their partner’s friends.
