9/2017 – 4/2018: CFA INSTITUTE RESEARCH CHALLENGE 2017-2018
CFA IRC is a global competition providing university students with
intensive training in financial analysis to write a research report on
assigned company with a buy, sell, or hold recommendation.
My responsibilities and achievements
• Being the representative team of Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi
Minh Campus to compete against 14 universities in the competition.
• Researching Vietjet Air based on top down analysis, valuation, risk
modeling consideration to assign a buy, sell, or hold recommendation.
• Presenting and defending team’s investment ideas to a panel of
judges coming from top financial institutions.
• Winning the national round of CFA Institute Research Challenge and
advancing to the Asia Pacific Regional Round in April 2018.

5/2018: M&A CONTEST COMPETITION 2018
M&A Contest is a national, annual competition held by AVM Vietnam,
CMAC (Trung Tam Dao Tao, Dau Tu & Kinh Doanh Vietnam) to select
excellent analysis of M&A deals in Vietnam.
My responsibilities and achievements
• Constructing a report analyzing the motivation of Vinamillk’s M&A activity (optional company) and
how this process impacts business performance.
• Top 10 of M&A contest competition 2018.

9/2018 – 11/2018: EXPERIENCE WITH SCIENCE RESEARCH ACTIVITY
Studying “The Impact of stock liquidity on stock price crash risk: Empirical in Vietnamese Stock Market”
(Thesis Research)

My responsibilities and achievements

• Constructing suitable variables and models based on previous theories to quantify the relationship of
targeted objects.
• Gathering and cleaning daily price, daily trading volume, yearly fundamental information of various
stocks to calculate suitable ratios representing for liquidity, price crash, and business performance for
each company in observed period.
• Doing robust regression model, 2 Stage Least Square regression, Difference in Difference analysis to
quantify the relationship, and testing the significance of result in various models.

12/2018 – 1/2019: FTU2 ALPHATHON 2018
FTU-HCM Alphathon is part of the WorldQuant Challenge. This gives students from FTU-HCM
opportunity to learn and compete in quantitative finance and data science.
My responsibilities and achievements
• Developing high-quality financial market signals (alphas) to test ideas of portfolio investing activity
on WorldQuant’s web-based simulation platform.
• Understanding the significance of data, how data can draw insight and how to use data to support
investment decision in a specific field – quantitative finance.
• 1st rank position in FTU2 Alphathon 2018.
