The report is originated in result of my internship, which I have done, as an important partial
requirement of four years BBA Graduation Program. This report is done based on my three
months internship in Sonali Bank Limited, Sylhet Corporate Branch, Sylhet. This is because
knowledge and learning become perfect when it is associated with theory and practice. By this
internship program we can establish contacts and networking which may help us to get a job in
practical life.
This is an orientation report that contains the real life day to day working experience of different
tasks in General Banking, Foreign Exchange and Loan and Advance of Sylhet Corporate Branch
of SBL. Sonali Bank Ltd. is a pioneer and largest commercial bank in Bangladesh. To serve the
nation Sonali bank performs some activities for their clients like: general banking operation as like
all kinds of deposit like saving current, short time deposit, fixed deposit, different scheme, cash,
remittance etc, loan and advance, various types of ancillary services, Islamic banking window,
capital market operation etc.
Sonali Bank Ltd. is the largest state bank of Bangladesh. It follows the rules and regulation
prescribed by the Bangladesh bank. The function covered a wide range of banking and functional
activities to individual, firms, corporate bodies, Multinational agencies and the rural area. During
my stay at the office as an internee I never felt vague and ambiguous. The environment of the
Sonali Bank Ltd. is well and friendly. The staffs are specialized in their respective fields. Each of
them works on their own and there id supervised from the top management. The motivation of the
staff, I believe comes from the very sense of responsibility.
This report is basically composed of 6 chapters, which are divided into different parts. In the first
chapter introduction, origination of the study, objective of the study, methodology, scope and
limitations have been highlighted. The overview of banking industry and Sonali Bank Limited is
discussed in chapter 2 and 3 successively. Chapter 4 has presented the tasks which I have
completed during internship. Chapter 5 has described the application of knowledge gained during
BBA Program. And finally I have drawn a conclusion with proper recommendation.
