Self-assessment: Checklist

Description of checklist: Each student will be given a graphic organizer (seen on page 1 of
this document) and a self-assessment checklist (seen on page 2 of this document). Each
student will complete the graphic organizer and use their prior knowledge of the academic
language from this unit to identify and match each component correctly based on the key events
from the first half of the myth. Students will simultaneously work on their graphic organizer and
assess themselves by completing their self-assessment checklist, based on their answers they
provide. Students will use the text (first half of the myth, The Tale of King Midas) and their
annotations from the previous lesson as a guide to help them achieve this goal.
