1 General Information

1.1 Symbols used

1.2 Scope of delivery

The jet cleaning system CPR 31 is designed
to clean pH, redox and temperature electro-
des in E+H flow and immersion assemblies
CPA 111, CPA 140 and CPA 240.

The delivery includes:

• Mounted jet cleaning set comprising

– spray head
– back-pressure valve
– hollow bolt Pg 13.5
– O-ring
• 1 cable gland Pg 16
(for CPA 111, CPA 140)
• 3 m EPDM hose
• 1 PVC hose coupling
• 2 worm drive hose clips
• 1 feedthrough sleeve (for CPA 240).

3 Installation
Immersion assembly
• Remove the assembly from the process.
• Remove dummy plug no. 3 of the electrode
holder.
• Screw the spray head into the electrode
mounting position marked with a groove.
Use the metal pin as a guiding device.
• Install the cable gland Pg 16 (for CPA 111,
CPA 140).
• Push the end of the hose through the cable
gland. Use some grease.
• Tighten the cable gland with a wrench.
• Stick the hose ends onto the hose nozzles
of the back-pressure valve and the hose
coupling.
• Fix both ends of the hose with the hose
clips.
• Check the spray efficiency by a water test.
• Reinstall the assembly in the process.
Warning:
• Depressurise the system when
removing and reinstalling the jet
cleaning system.
• Wear protection gloves when
removing the jet cleaning system.

Flow assembly
• Depressurise the process.
• Remove the protection cover from the
electrode holder.
• Break off the bigger pre-punched hole at
the top of the protection cover and insert
the feedthrough sleeve as a splash guard.
• Push the hose through the sleeve in the
protection cover.
• Stick the upper hose end onto the hose
nozzle of the hose coupling.
• Fix the hose end with a hose clip.
• Loosen the union nut of the assembly and
take the electrode holder out of the flow
vessel.
• Remove dummy plug no. 3 of the electrode
holder.
• Remove the metal pin and screw the spray
head into the electrode mounting position
marked with a groove.
• For assembly CPA 240-30 (stainless steel
version): Adjust the spray head in a way
that both electrodes are wetted by the
spray jets.
• Stick the lower hose end onto the hose
nozzle of the back-pressure valve.
• Fix the hose ends with a hose clip.
• Check the spray efficiency by a water test.
• Replace the electrode holder into the
assembly.
• Fix the electrode holder with the union nut.
• Replace the protection cover upon the
electrode holder. Inspect the seat of the
protection cover and make sure that the
hose and the measuring cable are relaxed.
Note:
For cleaning in flow assemblies:
Reduce the flow rate to a minimum
(< 0.5 m/s). Interrupt the inflow
during cleaning if necessary.
