It is our honor and privilege to welcome you to the 3rd Albanian Congress of Trauma and Emergency
Surgery on November 7 – 09, 2019 in Tirana, Albania

The main topic of ACTES 2019 is trauma and emergency surgery and not only ...
The Local Scientific Committee, leaded by Arben Gjata (Rector University of Medicine of Tirana),
Agron Dogjani, Gjergji Caushi, Xheladin Dracini, Etmont Celiku… Kastriot Haxhirexha, Lutfi
Zylbeari, but complemented by experts in the field from many other specialties and societies together
with the ASTES Executive Board and Section Chairs, have been working to bring an exceptional
scientific content to that congress.
Several pre-congress courses such as Basic Life Support & Defibrillation (BLS &D) will be held…
Colleagues from all Albanian areas and many European and non-European countries will be part in over
30 sessions during 3 days:
Instructional Lecture Courses, keynote sessions, guest symposia, interactive case presentations, free-
papers and posters sessions will cover the broad spectrum of innovations and state of the art in Trauma
and Emergency Surgery with special focus on high energy trauma management, trauma registries,
complex hip and pelvic fractures, damage control radiology, resuscitative endovascular balloon
occlusion of the aorta, laparoscopy and minimally invasive techniques in trauma and emergency
surgery, new strategies in wound care, point of care ultrasound, acute elderly patients and intra-
abdominal infections.
All of these topics and much more will be discussed in Tirana, the capital of Albania, a city that will
fascinate you, if you have time to immerse yourself in its interesting culture, gastronomy and to enjoy
its miraculous attractions.

• Abstracts can be submitted in English only.
• All abstracts should be accompanied by a statement confirming that the material is authentic and has never
been used before and will not be used in other similar events.
• Authors are free to finalize their texts and submit their abstracts at any time before Saturday, September 21,
2019 12:00 CET+1
• No changes can be made after this deadline.
• No presenter changes will be possible after this deadline.
• Confirmation of acceptance by the Program Committee will be published athttp://www.astes.org.al/congresby
October 15, 2019.
• All accepted Abstracts will be published in AJTES (Albanian Journal of Trauma & Emergency Surgery); an
exclusive and special number for ACTES 2019. AJTES Vol. 3, No 2; Supplement 3, 2019

CONGRESS LANGUAGE

Papers may be presented in Albanian and English language.

 ABSTRACT TEMPLATE

✓ Length of the abstract text is limited to 2’500 characters (incl. blanks).

✓ Text shall be structured:

o Introduction
o Materials & Methods
o Results
o Conclusion.
o Keywords.
✓ One table and one picture only may be included.
✓ Abstracts must include at least 50% new data if previously published or presented at a meeting.
✓ You may list up to eight (8) Co-Authors and four (4) institutions/ countries on the abstract form.
✓ The Presenting Author’s Name must be identical to what will be written in the Congress Registration Form.
✓ Any communication regarding the acceptance will only be given to the Submitting Author at the address
respectively at the e-mail address as registered.
