1) "Ne" is a sentence ending particle that acts as a "tag question" used to provoke a
response from the listening party, usually confirmation of or agreement with the speakers
statement, regarding a topic of mutual knowledge.

4 Example:
1 これは美味しいですね。
Kore wa oishii desu ne.
This is delicious, isn't it?

The speaker is attempting to confirm that fact that a shared dish has a favorable taste.
Please note that the ne particle always comes last in a sentence, after other particles like yo.

Note the different connotations in each example:

1 Type 1
堂坂さんはお酒がとても好きですね。
Dōsaka-san wa o-sake ga totemo suki desu ne.
Mr. Dōsaka-san really likes alcohol, doesn't he?

2 Type 1 and 2
A: 最近は雨ばかりですね。
Saikin wa ame bakari desu ne.
Recently, it's nothing but rain, right?
B: そうですね。本当にいやですね。
Sō desu ne. Hontō ni iya desu ne.
That's right. It's really terrible.

4 Type 4
A:あのね、試験に合格したの！
Ano ne, shiken ni gōkaku shita no!
Guess what? I passed the exam!

Grammar Point 2
The descriptor "totemo" acts like the English word "very" or "really."

Example:
Japanese Romanization English
1. Kore wa totemo oishii desu. This is very delicious.
これはとてもおいしいです。
2. Ano shiken wa totemo That test is very difficult.
あの試験はとても難しいです muzukashii desu.
