Payments segment generates revenues from fees paid by merchants for payment processing
services through Paypal and Bill Me Later; the Communication Segmant generates revenues
from Skype. The Marketplaces Segments of eBay; By 2005 eBay acquired Shopping.com,
Shopping.com is an online comparison shopping site that offers comparison of million of
products. Rent.com acquired by eBay in 2005 is a an online listing servces with over 20,000
listings Rent.com list are apartment availability, rental cost, virtal tors, roommate searches and
more. Ebay’s Payent segment; Paypal was fonded in December 1998 and was a acquired by eBay
in 2002 – Paypal is a recognized global leader in online payment solutions also Paypal can cater
to any online or offline transactions where members can send and receive payments online. In
2008 eBay acquired Bill Me Later where consumers instant credit at the point of sale. The
Communication Segments of eBay is composed of Skype. Where in 2003 Skype was found and
by 2005 Skype was acquired by eBay. Skype is the world’s fastest – growing internet
communication software platform.

2. Quality Management. EBay’s popularity is due to the value offered to its consumers. Ebay
provides a “faster, easier , safer online commerce experience”. To facilitate trading with
unknown partners on the internet eBay.Inc provides a trusted and safe trading by offering the
following services: Feedback, Safe Harbor Program, Verified Rights Owner Program, Consumer
support, Value-added Tools and Services, and loyalty Programs.
