Scheduling database backups, taking full and Transaction log backups.

7+ :
Strong experience in Database Administration in SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012,
2016)
Able to perform SQL server installation and configurations
Strong experience in Monitoring tools like IDERA, Redgate etc. is mandatory
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues,
performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues,
connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance
Monitor, DMVs and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk
space and other resource contention.
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink
operations, DBCC commands.
Strong Knowledge of Clustering, Always-ON availability group.
Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, statistics
work and how they can be created and managed effectively
Experience in patching SQL Servers.
SQL Development - ability to review and troubleshoot SQL queries and assist
developers (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)

Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances
Owns the strategic direction for the database topography
Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the
user would need
Design database backup and restore strategy
Setup High-Availability as part of Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases
Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix
the issues
Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level
(Database settings and options) and query tuning to include index optimizations
Failover clustering, SAN replication, and other high availability technologies
Database growth vs disk space available, audits, resource monitoring (I/O
bottlenecks, memory pressure, CPU use)
Manage Maintenance Plans
Monitor backups to ensure they are being performed regularly
