2. What are the two books written by Jose Rizal?
Answer: The two books that written by Jose Rizal are Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.
Jose Rizal wrote El Filibusterismo as a sequel to his novel, Noli me Tangere whichwas a form of propaganda. It was written
as a wake-up call to Filipinos because during the Spanish regime, Filipinos were being mistreated by Spaniards in their own
country. They were treated as slaves and were forced to pay big amounts of taxes. Its main purpose is to exploit the
mistreatment of Filipinos in the hands of Spaniards
Answer: Jose Rizal's "My Last Farewell" is a poem about his impending death as he wanted to honor his homeland, the
pre-Hispanic Philippines, for which he was giving his life. He also used the poem to say goodbye to his friends, family and
loved ones.
Answer :Dalagang Taga Malolos is a letter written by José Rizal for the young women of Malolos in 1889. The letter was
addressed in the time of political outrage caused by the twenty women who petitioned for a night school to study the
Spanish language and be at par with men.
Answer: There were at least nine women linked with Rizal; namely Segunda Katigbak, Leonor Valenzuela, Leonor Rivera,
Consuelo Ortiga, O-Sei San, Gertrude Beckette, Nelly Boustead, Suzanne Jacoby and Josephine Bracken. These women
might have been beguiled by his intelligence, charm and wit.
8. Why was Rizal selected as our national hero and not Bonifacio?
Answer: In comparing the life of our two great Filipinos, one can clearly see the differences in their background. Rizalwas
talented, but moreover, blessed to be born into a good family who can afford to send him to
prestigiousschools. Bonifacio, on the other hand, was born into a poor family. One can clearly point out that the reason
for the different courses of action taken by the two are very well linked with their backgrounds. Rizal is theIdealist,
wherein he used his intellect in making known his feelings. Through his writings, he was able to define what he saw
wrong. Switching sides, Bonifacio, although intelligent himself, resorted to physicalwarfare as the means of making his
beliefs known to the public. No matter how much we want to identify which of the two men was better, there’s no point
in doing so. They may be similar in their goals, but their ways were different.
In our opinion, the national hero should be the one with the greatest influence. For this reason, we believe that Rizal is
the worthy one, since he himself influencedBonifacio to act up. A hero should exude an aura which is definitely hard to
avoid and be influenced by. This is what Jose Rizal was all about.
Answer: There was eight native (Filipino) soldiers, behind them were eight SPANISH soldiers who were to shoot the
