Brinsworth Manor Junior School Newsletter for 2019.

Enterprise Event 12th December
On Thursday 12th December we had our Enterprise
Fair. Those who came were amazed at the quality of
the gifts the children had made. A big thank you, to
everyone who came along and supported this very
popular school event. We raised an amazing £909
which will be used to buy curriculum resources for
the children.
School Concerts
Another big thank you to everyone who came to
watch our Christmas Concerts this week. I’m sure
you will agree the productions were lovely. We
would like to thank the children and staff who
worked so hard to ensure they went off without a
hitch.
Thank you to everyone who supported our raffle –
we raised £395 for school funds.
Rotherham Moorgate Badgers – St John Ambulance
The Badger Leader at Rotherham Moorgate
badgers has contacted us to let us know they have
a number of places for 7-8 year olds to join their unit
after Christmas.
The Badgers meet on a Thursday night in the centre
of Rotherham. Anyone aged 7-10 can join a Badger
Sett, these are after-school clubs which operate
across England. Badgers usually meet once a week
for around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Badgers take part
in pace!
fun activities for different subjects, earning badges
and certificates for each one. For every three
subjects a Badger completes, they can receive a
bronze, silver, or gold award. Badgers can:
learn first aid, make new friends, get creative with
arts and crafts ,find out how the body works and
how to stay healthy, learn about helping their local
community, take part in team games, develop
leadership and communication skills, and much

Attendance
Well done to Chameleon and Seahorse classes with
96.4% and 95.8% attendance. As you will know our
annual school target is 96.5%. Thank you to all of our
parents who continually support us to achieve our
attendance target. Please remember to phone
school and leave a message if your child is unwell
and off school.
Plastic water bottles
We provide your child with a plastic water bottle
that can be used throughout the day – however if
you wish your child to have bottled water from
home then please send this with them in the
morning. Please do not bring large water bottles,
milk drinks, fruit juice or fizzy drink. As we are an
Eco School please remember to take your plastic
bottles home to recycle them.

For safety reasons, can we please ask that children
do not wear earrings for P.E. If the piercing is new
and they cannot be removed, then can we ask that
your child brings tape to cover them.
Polite notice to parents and visitors
It has been brought to our attention that the front
of school is looking very messy with cigarette butts
and rubbish.
Could we politely remind parents and other visitors
to the school to be mindful of setting a good
example to the children by disposing of cigarette
butts and rubbish in a responsible way thereby
ensuring the entrances to school are a clean and
welcoming environment for all.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.10 per day or £10.50 per
week. Dinners should be paid for in advance
either weekly on a Monday morning or monthly if
you prefer. Alerts can be set up on Parentpay to
let you know when the balance is zero.
