INTRODUCTION
Management of students and classes information is very important, because it is
the foundation of good education process. If this process is provided manually
there are big issues to handle big amount of students, teachers and classes. To
update the classes’ information or to make changes in schedule you should make a
lot of work. To provide convenient access to such information, we need a software
solution that provide access and management of such information. We can create it
on the basis of stand-alone client-server application, but then we need to deal with
such issues as database server management, clients’ upgrades, software
incompatibility and lack of support of different client platforms this solution is for
college management only. The best way to provide such system would be to use a
cloud solution as a platform and a web access to this system on the client side. This
approach would deliver us from the necessity of development of our own data
center and provide an easy access to the resources of such system for all users via
web browser. Teachers, Students, Collage Management. Working with computers
for securing and keeping data is more relevant in the large sized institutions, but
Bule Hora university student system is not work with computer. They work in
manual system to keep their data, but this is more traditional and not effective. The
other problem of the university student system is that they have no developed
website by which some issues concerning about the register is informed like
announcing the rule and regulation of the university registration by the website’s
page. After we have a look this problem we are trying to make a system which can
give accurate and fast remedy for these all problems mentioned above. Since the
computer system can store, retrieve and process a huge amount of data or students’
information as well as the university’s information we believed this kinds of the
system can solve those problems completely and we start developing this project.
Now a day the computers play a great role in substituting human mean that replace
to reduce work load in everywhere in the world, including tangible, or intangible
files can be kept in the computer system in addition to the personal information.
Here, in the higher educational institution it is observed that there are problems of
protecting their data from external agent, putting their data in a database and etc. By
considering these problems we see the registration system of Bule Hora University
and we are intended to solve the problem with today’s technologies to make the
problem solved well. The registration system that we are going to develop online
student information system.

Statement of the Problem.

Problems of the existing system are:
 Submit student grade report manually using paper, so the present system is
not good enough because this paper will be damaged.
 Information retrieval of student detail is difficult and time consuming because
there is no way to search student information electronically.
 Little coordination among users (students, teachers and other college workers)
because there is no interface that helps user to access the system.
 Accessing students file is time consuming.
 When the number of students becomes huge (increase) storing of their data is
difficult and needs more cost.
 Difficult to update the student information. For example to change students
result.
 Losses of data because the system uses MS excel and paper to store student
information, so data can be lost.
 The other big problem is security. As we have indicated in the above
information is stored in MS Excel and paper, every employee can edit others
personal information. But, the student information that is stored in the
Registrar need highly secure system and also needs care to prevent it from
unauthorized access.
 Generally In the current system there is no mechanism for student to view
grade report online, to submit student grade, to register student, Documenting
and storing student records, Search student files rather than paper
Objective of the Project
General Objective
The general objective of this project is to develop web based information
management system for Bule Hora University students.
Specific Objective
The specific objectives of this project are:
 To develop a database system that store, manipulate, search and retrieve data.
 To develop easy and descriptive user interfaces to manipulate student records.
 To develop a mechanism for student grade report generation.
 To develop good security mechanism to keep students data.
 To develop a system that enables submission of students result
 To change the manual system in to computerized registration system.

 To reduce repetition of work.

 To make the system networked

Scope of the Project

Scope defines the coverage areas of the project, activities and operation done by the
system. The project team needs to develop web based student information
management system for BHU. The project team will develop a system.
 To register student.
 To generate grade report.
 To documenting and storing student records.
 To search student files.
 To assign the block number and dorm for student
Significance of the Project
After implementation our system will deliver different functions for BHU student
and staff workers such as:
 It will speed up the searching processes of student information.
 It will avoid loss of data.
 It will minimize the cost.
 It will increase user satisfaction
 It will save the time that is lost while recording student information manually.
 It will protect the student file from unauthorized access.
 It will handle student information in better way.
 To increase information retrieval
 To reduce repetition of work.
 To produce automatic report
