7-Day Quickstart Cheatsheet

The list below condenses the information in The Conversation Kickstarter in the simplest, most direct steps
possible to starting to speak your target language within a week.

Please follow the steps below in order. If you feel any doubt, resistance or nerves, just remember that it’s only
a symptom of your comfort zone expanding and taking you to new places.

1. Click here to sign up to iTalki.com

2. Complete your profile on the site. This is an important step because it helps let prospective language
partners know what you are looking for.

3. Decide if you want to work with a language exchange partner or informal tutor.

4. Use the search functions on the site to find a suitable exchange partner or informal tutor. Make contact
and introduce yourself. Tell them your current level and what you'd like to do in the sessions.

5. Use the scheduling function to set a time and date for your first session. If you’ve gone with an informal
tutor, you’ll need to purchase a few iTalki credits. This is safe and secure.

6. Prepare for the session using one of the three strategies from The Conversation Kickstarter.

7. Take the plunge!
