Most​ ​likely,​ ​at​ ​this​ ​point​ ​in​ ​the​ ​process:  
 
● Your​ ​product​ ​is​ ​live​ ​on​ ​Amazon  
● You​ ​have​ ​your​ ​initial​ ​product​ ​reviews  
● You​ ​have​ ​executed​ ​or​ ​are​ ​in​ ​the​ ​middle​ ​of​ ​executing​ ​your​ ​launch  
● You​ ​are​ ​making​ ​a​ ​handful​ ​of​ ​sales,​ ​and​ ​following​ ​up​ ​with​ ​those​ ​customers  
 
Now,​ ​how​ ​do​ ​you​ ​continue​ ​to​ ​grow​ ​and​ ​scale​ ​your​ ​business?  
 
Remember​ ​that​ ​building​ ​a​ ​business​ ​is​ ​a​ ​marathon,​ ​not​ ​a​ ​sprint,​ ​and​ ​you​ ​work​ ​on​ ​it​ ​every 
day.​ ​You​ ​need​ ​to​ ​do​ ​“stuff”​ ​to​ ​grow​ ​your​ ​business,​ ​but​ ​what​ ​do​ ​you​ ​do?​ ​How​ ​do​ ​you 
make​ ​sure​ ​that​ ​you’re​ ​doing​ ​the​ ​right​ ​things?

2.​ ​Your​ ​Performance​ ​Checklist  


Download​ ​and​ ​read​ ​through​ ​the​ ​“Performance​ ​Checklist”​ ​included​ ​in​ ​this​ ​lesson,​ ​and 
save​ ​a​ ​digital​ ​copy—​you​ ​will​ ​add​ ​to​ ​this​ ​list,​ ​change​ ​the​ ​order,​ ​and​ ​remove​ ​tasks​ ​that 
are​ ​not​ ​applicable​ ​to​ ​your​ ​business​.  
 
This​ ​list​ ​contains​ ​tasks​ ​that​ ​you​ ​perform​ ​daily​ ​and​ ​weekly​ ​to​ ​continue​ ​your​ ​business 
growth.​ ​Plan​ ​to​ ​use​ ​this​ ​list​ ​as​ ​consistently​ ​as​ ​possible—choose​ ​a​ ​day​ ​and​ ​time​ ​for 
every​ ​task,​ ​so​ ​that​ ​they​ ​become​ ​habit!  
 
Important:​ ​You​ ​may​ ​outsource​ ​these​ ​tasks​ ​in​ ​the​ ​future,​ ​but​ ​not​ ​until​ ​they​ ​have​ ​become 
completely​ ​routine​ ​for​ ​you,​ ​first.  
 
Read​ ​through​ ​this​ ​short​ ​preview​ ​of​ ​the​ ​tasks​ ​you​ ​will​ ​undertake​ ​every​ ​week,​ ​to​ ​grow​ ​your 
business:  
 
● Check​ ​and​ ​reply​ ​to​ ​any​ ​customer​ ​messages​ ​within​ ​the​ ​Amazon​ ​messaging 
system​ ​(multiple​ ​times​ ​throughout​ ​the​ ​day)—​Amazon​ ​penalizes​ ​you​ ​if​ ​you​ ​do​ ​not 
reply​ ​to​ ​messages​ ​within​ ​24​ ​hours.​​ ​If​ ​you​ ​DO​ ​respond​ ​within​ ​24​ ​hours,​ ​Amazon 
rewards​ ​you​ ​with​ ​better​ ​seller​ ​metrics. 
● Check​ ​product​ ​reviews​ ​and​ ​respond​ ​as​ ​needed. 
● Check​ ​for​ ​seller​ ​feedback​ ​and​ ​respond​ ​as​ ​needed.  
● Check​ ​for​ ​seller​ ​feedback​ ​that​ ​is​ ​actually​ ​a​ ​product​ ​review—thank​ ​the​ ​buyer​ ​for 
the​ ​review,​ ​let​ ​them​ ​know​ ​that​ ​it​ ​was​ ​put​ ​into​ ​the​ ​wrong​ ​section,​ ​and​ ​ask​ ​if​ ​they 
wouldn’t​ ​mind​ ​adding​ ​it​ ​to​ ​the​ ​“product​ ​review”​ ​section.  
● Check​ ​for​ ​and​ ​respond​ ​to​ ​questions​ ​and​ ​comments​ ​on​ ​your​ ​listing.  
● Check​ ​for​ ​refunds​ ​and​ ​contact​ ​those​ ​customers.

● Check​ ​for​ ​other​ ​sellers​ ​on​ ​your​ ​listing,​ ​and​ ​contact​ ​them​ ​if​ ​necessary​ ​(this​ ​does 
not​ ​happen​ ​very​ ​often).  
● Check​ ​your​ ​keyword​ ​rankings​ ​(make​ ​sure​ ​you​ ​are​ ​logged​ ​out​ ​of​ ​your​ ​account, 
first,​ ​so​ ​as​ ​not​ ​to​ ​skew​ ​the​ ​numbers).  
● Perform​ ​a​ ​basic​ ​inventory​ ​check​ ​to​ ​make​ ​sure​ ​you​ ​aren’t​ ​close​ ​to​ ​running​ ​out​ ​of 
anything.  
● Check​ ​your​ ​traffic​ ​and​ ​conversion​ ​rates​ ​(which​ ​we​ ​will​ ​explain​ ​in​ ​more​ ​detail​ ​in 
the​ ​upcoming​ ​lessons):  
○ Sessions​ ​(traffic)  
○ Units​ ​ordered​ ​(conversions)  
○ Unit​ ​session​ ​percentage​ ​(conversion​ ​rates)  
○ Buy​ ​box​ ​percentage  
● Update​ ​your​ ​social​ ​media/content​ ​marketing​ (​ daily)​:  
○ Facebook​ ​(1x)  
○ Twitter​ ​(3x)  
○ Instagram​ ​(1x)  
○ Pinterest​ ​(3x)  
● Check​ ​social​ ​media/content​ ​marketing​ ​(weekly):  
○ Track​ ​fans​ ​and​ ​engagement​ ​for​ ​each:  
■ Facebook—fans,​ ​likes,​ ​and​ ​shares  
■ Twitter—followers​ ​and​ ​retweets  
■ Instagram  
■ Pinterest  
■ YouTube  
○ Create​ ​and​ ​email​ ​content​ ​to​ ​subscribers  
○ Create​ ​and​ ​post​ ​videos​ ​to​ ​YouTube 
● Thorough​ ​review​ ​of​ ​inventory​ ​and​ ​forecasting  
● Sales​ ​and​ ​trends​ ​over​ ​the​ ​past​ ​7​ ​days​ ​and​ ​the​ ​past​ ​30​ ​days

● Supplier​ ​relationship-building—have​ ​scheduled​ ​talks​ ​periodically  


 
Now​ ​that​ ​you​ ​know​ ​what​ ​to​ ​expect,​ ​download​ ​your​ ​Performance​ ​Checklist,​ ​remember​ ​to 
save​ ​it​ ​in​ ​a​ ​format​ ​that​ ​you​ ​can​ ​edit​ ​(e.g.,​ ​a​ ​Word​ ​document),​ ​then​ ​start​ ​doing​ ​your​ ​daily 
and​ ​weekly​ ​activities.​ ​The​ ​sooner​ ​you​ ​make​ ​this​ ​a​ ​habit,​ ​the​ ​easier​ ​it​ ​will​ ​be​ ​to​ ​run​ ​your
