Pembelajaran Pengetahuan:
 Explain the construction process of various engineering structures;
 organise and manage engineering construction projects
 explain the term retaining wall, various types and where they are being used.
 enumerate road pavement materials, pavement classifications, road profiles etc
 itemise the bridge types based on materials, load carrying methods and method of construction.
 list and explain bridge accessories.
 describe airport construction types, run way, lighting, etc.
 give details of the railway track, materials used, constructional methods and accessories.
 explain the construction process of tunnel, safety precautions required, lining and installation of services.
 enumerate various plant and equipment required for various engineering construction works.

Keterampilan:
1. Sketch various engineering structures such as retaining walls, road pavement profile, bridges, airport layout, railway track
and tunnel lining.
2. Sketch various plant and equipment for engineering construction.
3. Prepare various construction methods
4. Prepare work schedule
5. Make appropriate choice of construction plant and equipment based on site conditions and tasks involved
6. Handle from inception to completion any engineering construction projects

Deskripsi Matakuliah : Matakuliah ini bertujuan untuk Introduce the students to the construction process of various civil engineering
structures; Explain in details the component parts of the civil engineering structures, Explain the methods of construction
of each of the engineering structures contained in the course outline. Explore various materials available for the
construction of each engineering structures and provide students with the knowledge required to effectively write
specifications, prepare bills of quantities and valuation of building and civil engineering works, 2. Materi ajar yang
disampaikan meliputi :retaining walls which embrace gravity and reinforced concrete diaphragm walls, road pavement
construction (types, grade, sub-base, base course, wearing course including materials used in construction), bridges (types and
suitability, methods of construction, use and construction of caissons and cofferdam in bridges), airport construction (types,
accessories such as run way, lighting, wind indicator, layout), railway track (materials used and constructional methods, rails,
sleepers, cross ties, switches, crossings, terminal etc), tunnel construction (excavation, safety precautions, linings, installation of
services etc), construction plant and equipment. Field trip (optional). 3. Metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan adalah
cooperative learning. Mahasiswa bekerjasama dengan anggota kelompoknya dalam mengerjakan tugas, membuat
rancangan proses dan bentuk penilaian berdasarkan consensus kelompoknya sendiri. Kegiatan belajar dilakukan dengan
cara mengerjakan tugas dari dosen yang bersifat open ended dan dosen bertugas sebagai fasilitator dan motivator.
