SUMMARY

The Buck in the Snow poem focuses on death by

describing it as a sudden without mercy and
unexpected .The poet does this by telling about
the death of a buck that firstly was completely
calm with his doe and then all of a sudden ‘he’

The Poets wants us to think more about death.

The main message is that death is

sudden ,unexpected and strange that anyone can
pass from a joyful moment to suddenly a horrible
one therefore she tells us that we can still cry and
pay homape to the death .

Structure

The poem is a short poem of 12 lines, the first of 5

lines ,second is 1 line and the third is of 6
lines .This is a very unusual type ,the poet also
uses enjambment to draw reader’s attention .

Subject

This poem talks about how death is sudden and

strange as life .To do so the poet tells about the
mysterious murder of buck and the natures
reaction to it all of this while making refacetions
about death .

TONE

The tone of this poem changes along.The first

stanza is joyful ,the second one is more stared
between fear and anger and The third one is
more philosophical and ruminative.
