1. How much income generated additionally by adopting the new activity?

Ans- Assumption- Activity 1 is the core business related to canteen services and Activity 2 is
additional. So the income generated by Amul parlour will be equal to net surplus i.e. 3500/month
because there is no overheads for this SHG unit as all the work is done by its members.

2. Will this unit to be considered as successful unit?

Ans- Yes, Mission Mangala (Women SHGs to run canteens) can be classified under successful
unit because it provide quality services and successfully able to optimize its resources through its
management skills. Financial of this SHG can be seen as real functioning business unit which is
self-sustaining and creating sufficient income.

3. What were the determinants that helped the SHG’s success?

Ans- The determinants that help the SHG success are-:

 Extra ordinary management skills

 No capital investment for premise allow high working capital
 High quality of services
 Self-sustaining business model
 No expense on hiring chef and manger
4. What were the factors that facilitated the partnership?

Ans- The factor which enabled the partnership between Government of Gujarat and SHG units is
mutual benefits for both the parties. Government office staff gets constant access to quality food
also SHG help government to achieve its social motive to improve society. On the other hand
SHG gets free of cost premise to run their business model efficiently with regular income of
30000/months.

5. Is there any potential for replication?

Ans- It is highly successful business model that should be replicated in all the government office.
It will act as a capacity building programme for weaker section of society. Also government
staffs will be highly satisfied and motivated to work if they get quality and consistent food on
time.
