CHALOHOPPO

Chalohoppo is a startup founded by John Raphael and Nishant Sinha in

2016. Before the startup, both used to work as a content strategist at
Foxymoron where Nishant was senior to him. Nishant is a Postgraduate in
advertising and marketing from Xavier’s Institute of Communication
whereas John is a graduate in economics from St. Xavier’s college. Both of
these guys have worked on different content writing firms before working
on this startup.

Chalohoppo is a not big team. There are 10 people in the company as of

now. Each one is responsible for different aspects of this startup. Team
members are from different backgrounds and each one seems very
enthusiastic.

Currently, Chalohoppo is operating in northeast India only. They offer

trips/treks to Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram,
Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

Celebrities like Barkha Singh(Actress, MTV VJ) has also travelled through
Chalohoppo in Northeast and this startup has leveraged it well. The startup
is also getting publicity by getting featured in various leading newspapers
and websites.

Chalohoppo is present on Instagram, FB, youtube and twitter but it’s active
only on Facebook & Instagram with 9k likes and 16k followers respectively.
It has 857 posts on Instagram speaking about people’s experiences, facts,
cuisines, flora &fauna of the NorthEast.

They are not giving services to a lot of regions instead they are focussing
on niche sites, where someone from the team has already visited to give
customers a better experience.
They offer only 2 treks at most which are very less as compared to other
startups.
USP of the startup:
● Every itinerary, every accommodation and every experience has
been tried firsthand by the at least one member of Chalohoppo team
and it is only then that we present it to travellers.

● They focus on authentic experiences like trying local cuisine, buying

handicraft from artisans themselves, visiting traditional huts. They try
to make them stand apart from traditional ‘tour package’ companies.

● They believe that hotel experiences do injustice to Northeast India by

insulating travellers from the real places and its people. Hence, they
hunt for cosy homestays.

● Plan your own Trip: Tell your requirement, budget; review the plan
and travel.
