STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Right from my childhood, I recognize the importance of working, taking risks and most importantly
chasing my dreams. I always had a strong inclination towards digital trends. Being a 90’s kid, I have seen
the magnificent boom of technology taking place on a global scale. My curiosity to learn about machines
and electronics from an early age has led me to dismantle my toys and other gadgets to learn about their
working. Moreover, my uncles who are software engineers supported my zeal by exposing me to latest
technologies, automobiles and different kinds of electronic and computerized systems which kindled my
interest towards Computer Science.

My passion for innovation and development has grown with each passing year and it has reached a point
where even my under graduation has not quenched my thirst for knowledge. I passed my 10th grade and
12th grade with 70% and 91% aggregates respectively. In order to keep myself on my toes, I selected
engineering as my Bachelor’s program. I have come to terms with the fact that there is an enormous
proportion of subject to be assimilated. A natural aptitude for mathematics, a sense of logic, analytical
ability, capacity for diligent work and high academic credentials secured me a place in Gudlavalleru
Engineering College. I enrolled in Computer Science and engineering which is, one of the most advanced
and challenging courses offered by Gudlavalleru Engineering College (G.E.C), affiliated to JNTU
Kakinada, India in the year 2013.

The academic content of the program is underpinned with assignments and project works providing a
rigorous and intellectually broadening educational experience and also provided a firm foundation in the
subject. It helped me to develop an understanding of theories, concepts, and analytical thinking. With
hard work and perseverance, I maintained a consistent aggregate of 75.2% up to third year second
semester. During my undergraduate study, I was exposed to subjects related to general engineering as
well as those related to core Computer Science such as Object Oriented Programming Languages,
Computer Networks, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Data Warehousing & Mining,
Network Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography and Network Security. I acquired considerable
proficiency in C PROGRAMMING, C++, JAVA, HTML, C#, MOBILE COMPUTING and HADOOP.

I feel proud honing the biggest achievement in my Bachelor’s degree by securing compliments on alocal
and national scale from the NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL
(NAAC) committee who visited our college and appreciated my live projects which are RFID systems
and IOT home automation systems. Both the projects were designed with modern apprehension towards
current digital trends. The IOT home automation system and RFID system projects were led by myself
with respect to time and usability constraints. The home automation system is currently being used to
control my department’s electronic devices like computer systems, fans, lights, air conditioners using a
simple application which was created by myself. The RFID system is being used in our laboratories as an
additional security. These projects were taken up in my 3rd year 2nd semester in response to the inspection
held in my college.

My undergraduate study was a richly rewarding experience, during which I participated in various
software training programs like unity, windows azure and android application development rightfrom my
1st year at our college as well as in other colleges. My interest towards Software, Security and Research
organizations drove me for projects. The need for exposure to a wider environment prompted me to
participate in workshops and technical events like paper presentations, best innovative idea presentations
throughout my district. I have presented various seminars, as a part of my course, on ‘Cyber Security
and Threats’, which focused on web security issues, SSL, HTTPS, Pretty Good Privacy, S/MIME.
Currently, my undergraduate project is on IOT titled ‘Remote Irrigation Using GSM’. This project is
based on automatic irrigation of plants and crops using soil sensors for a better perseverance of water
resources with minimal wastage of water. All these projects helped substantiate my intention to do
extensive studies on these subjects.

Besides theoretical work, my enthusiasm for research in the field of computers has helped me gain
practical knowledge in Computer Sciences through various project work. I have successfully completed
‘Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Specialist’ certifications in my final year. The
objective of learning is fulfilled when we are able to apply what we have learned. It is this consistent
desire that made me do many projects and driven me to attend many workshops which include Cyber
security, Android App development. I am also an active member and coordinator from my second year
for ‘Computer Society of India’ which is a group of various Computer Science background students and
other people.

The pursuit for my passion and knowledge has been the supreme goal in my life. Even though India has
exposed me to a stimulating academic environment where learning and research go hand in hand.
Through the many opportunities I have had here, I have found a deep interest in research work and a
strong attitude for the type of problem-solving and problem discovery that it involves. In order to dedicate
my passion to the newer heights that I want to achieve using my hard work and knowledge, I want to
bridge the gap between the theoretical concepts with practical implementation using myself as the catalyst
to be the resourceful person for the society. I have therefore decided to pursue masters and active research
in Computer Science Engineering as a career.

My long-term goal is to put my footprints in the field of Computer Science through

thecontribution of original ideas and translating those ideas to develop high-end applications and
products. I am well aware that a career in research, calls for personal commitment and personal sacrifice
of time, leisure and immediate reward. However, my desire to realize my full potential and to make an
original contribution to the field of Computer Science drive me to pursue a research career, which, I
believe, will give me intellectual satisfaction, thegratification of becoming a contributor to knowledge and
personal rewards of learning and discovery. After I receive my Master’s degree, I plan to pursue a career
as a system architect in the software industry, working in the design and development of web-based
applications and technologies. In this Endeavour, I hope to contribute significantly to the human society
by improving the quality of life and standard of living.

I visualize the ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY as the right choice to pursue my graduate studies in
Computer Science as I see ample opportunities to enhance my knowledge in my areas of interest. The
excellent research facilities, eminent faculty and the vibrant atmosphere of the university have really
attracted me. The university catalogue, the department brochure and the websites show that the
laboratories and the research groups at your esteemed university would make it an ideal place for me to
pursue my goals. I am enthusiastically looking forward to embark on a career of full-time research,
which will allow me to be involved in analyzing, comprehending, and solving various problems in
experimental and computational research in the field of Computer Science.

I am aware of the kind of patience, dedication, and perseverance needed for research-based education and
I believe my background shall place me in a unique position in exploring the emerging technologies and
methodologies of the field. I am sure that the interaction with faculty and my own peers at your esteemed
university will provide an ambiance conducive for my graduate studies. Hence, at ARKANSAS STATE
UNIVERSITY I see the road to the realization of my ambition.
