1. BRIEFING TOPICS
2. SESSION OBJECTIVE
- To familiarize the trainees with the location and operation of various light controls and switches.
- To familiarize trainees with the task sharing during cockpit preparation.
- To check trainee against self-preparation of normal checklist expanded.
- To initialize study of FMS initialization including main functions of FMS and AFS.
- To demonstrate flight envelope protection of the aircraft.
- To prepare the trainees for standard cockpit management during descent and stabilized ILS
approach and landing.
- To introduce and practice go around procedure.
4. SESSION GUIDE
Item 2 : Pilot trainee shall explain action to perform and/or check during all expanded checklist
loudly.
Prestart normal checklist – expanded shall be performed correctly within 10 minutes
Freeze aircraft position and altitude if required while performing normal checklist expanded
during flight
Item 4 : Pilot trainee shall perform FMS initialization correctly within 5 minutes.
Item 8 : This item is only to trigger brakes and flight control checks.
Item 13 : - Assist the trainees during descend preparation and approach if needed.
- Approach briefing demonstration performed by instructor.
Item 19 : Request pilot trainees to notice pitch attitude, pitch trim and power setting during approach
at each aircraft configuration.
Item 20 : Request trainees to notice attitude, speed and stabilizer nose down movement during
automatic go around.
Item 26 : - Demonstrate all AFS operation via FCU. Emphasize on the necessity that PNF shall
operate FCU according to PF command when PF is flying manual.
- Demonstrate other FMS functions according to time available.
