Find  and  correct  the  mistakes  in  these  sentences.    If  there  is  no  mistake,  write  
“no  mistake.”  
 
1.    I  made  the  soup  you  eating  now.  
 
2.    Julie  bought  tickets  to  the  concert  she  wanting  to  go  to.  
 
3.    The  teacher  told  us  to  study  the  chapters  learning  last  week.  
 
4.    I  think  the  cake  baking  in  the  oven  smells  delicious.  
 
5.    Jennifer  found  the  book  wanting  to  read.  
 
 
 
 
Rewrite  the  following  sentences.    Reduce  the  adjective  clause  if  possible.    If  it’s  
not  possible,  write  “can’t  reduce.”  
 
1.    The  students  who  were  playing  soccer  on  the  field  got  muddy.  
 
2.    Joe  returned  the  book  that  showed  him  how  to  build  a  tree  house.  
 
3.    The  children  went  into  the  haunted  house  which  is  on  the  corner.  
 
4.    Steve  worked  at  a  company  that  develops  software  for  the  space  shuttle.  
 
5.    The  train  that  I  ride  to  work  everyday  was  out  of  service  yesterday.  
 
6.    The  doctor  gave  me  a  new  medicine  which  made  me  fell  sleepy.  
 
7.    Even  though  it’s  cheap,  I  don’t  want  to  buy  a  car  that  was  destroyed  in  a  tsunami.  
 
8.    I  spent  a  lot  of  time  swimming  at  a  beach  that  is  beautiful.  
 
9.    The  video  that  was  shown  in  class  yesterday  was  about  genetics  research.  
 
10.    The  bridge  that  goes  across  the  river  needs  to  be  repaired  before  winter.
