PROBLEM?

Did you know Malaysia is one of the countries that have a high community whose addiction
to pornographic materials? However, until now Malaysia has no laws or regulations against those
who download or watching online pornographic materials. Do governments have to enact specific
laws to ban pornography in Malaysia? Yes, it should be. The government should step up and take
a serious look at the stricter regulations and enforce these laws to protect the general public.
Besides, in 2018 an alarming survey conducted by Malaysian Against Pornography (MAP)
revealed that 80 percent of children aged 10 to 17 years have watched pornography intentionally.

To begin with, law is one of the government policies created for the good of the state. The
law is believed to control and regulate society. But, today's pornography is extremely violent,
hardcore, and it is absence by any measure. Therefore, some good steps in reducing porn addiction
are through law enforcement. Through punishment that the offender has the opportunity to become
aware of the offense and they did not repeat the act.

Next, the researches in 2014 found that 35.3 percent of teens were exposed to pornography
because 60.8 percent of the group had access to pornographic websites through the internet. This
is followed by another 35 percent via smartphone, while 20 percent from CD and VCD. For
instance, the government should enforce law to controlled surfing pornography website by using
web filtering software and implementation of laws related to pornography sites is a requirement
for a country, up to 1,000 strokes, 12 years in prison and cash-strapped fines to be imposed by the
government as a measure to curb the continued spread of pornographic material.

To add to that, by the law and regulations that to be implemented will help to lower the
porn addiction problem if these issues taken seriously by the government. Also, internet filtering
software is not the only solution to the issue of pornography on the internet. Most researchers
conclude that adult monitoring for children and adolescents while browsing the web is necessary
to address the issue of pornography.

However, an individual whose addiction to pornographic materials should help themselves

too. Because, neither the law nor the rule applies if an individual addicted to pornographic material
himself or herself does not want to change it is still useless. Stopping the addiction to long-term
pornography may can be a slow process, but it requires commitment and desire.

In conclusion, still, considering all arguments, the role of the government is very crucial in
establishing new laws on pornography. Through that, addiction to pornography can be dwindle
away. Generally, a problem cannot be solved only by law. The public needs to be aware of its laws
and actions is against the law.
