Brussels Central Station is a railway
and metro station in central
Brussels, Belgium. It is the second
busiest railway station in Belgium
and one of three principal railway
stations in Brussels, together with
Brussels-South and Brussels-North.
First completed in 1952 after
protracted delays caused by
economic difficulties and World War
II, it is the newest of Brussels' main
rail hubs.

A Stolperstein is a sett-size, 10 by 10 centimetres concrete cube
bearing a brass plate inscribed with the name and life dates of victims
of Nazi extermination or persecution.The Stolpersteine project,
initiated by the German artist Gunter Demnig in 1992, aims to
commemorate individuals at exactly the last place of residency, which
was freely chosen by the person before he or she fell victim to Nazi
terror, euthanasia, eugenics, deportation to a concentration or

As of 23 October 2018, 70,000 Stolpersteine have been laid making the
Stolpersteine project the world's largest decentralized memorial.The
majority of Stolpersteine commemorate Jewish victims of the
Holocaust. Others have been placed for Sinti and Romani people,
homosexuals, the physically or mentally disabled, Jehovah's Witnesses,
black people, members of the Communist Party, the Social Democratic
Party, and the anti-Nazi Resistance, the Christian opposition, and
Freemasons, along with International Brigade soldiers in the Spanish
Civil War, military deserters, conscientious objectors, escape helpers,
capitulators, "habitual criminals", looters, and others charged with
treason, military disobedience, or undermining the Nazi military, as well
as Allied soldiers.

JUSTICE OF BRUSSELS

The Palace of Justice of Brussels or Law


Courts of Brussels is the most important
court building in Belgium. It is located on
Place Poelaert/Poelaertplein in the
Marolles/Marollen district of Brussels.The
Palace of Justice was built between 1866 and
1883 by the celebrated architect Joseph
Poelaert in the eclectic style. The building is
reputed to be the largest constructed in the
19th century and is a notable landmark of
Brussels.The total cost of the construction,
land and furnishings was somewhere in the
region of 45 million Belgian francs.
