QUOTATION - PRE CONSTRUCTION TERMITE TREATMENT


SITE: HENRI PEDRIS GROUND CHEMICAL BARRIER ONLY

Following the site inspection conducted by us in connection with the above we are pleased to submit our
quotation.

 Treatment

The chemical Bifenthrin 100g/l will be used in treating the site.

We recommend the use of Bifenthrin for the following reasons:

 Kills almost all species of termites


 Gives long lasting protection from termites
 Used for Barrier treatment in Pre and Post Construction.
 Registered under pesticide act of Sri Lanka No.33 of 180
 Is a unique product recommended worldwide for the control of termites

The treatment will be carried out in two stages, as follows:

Stage Two

 After landscaping is completed on the site, a chemical barrier will be created around the building by
injecting Bifenthrin solution at the rate of 5 litres per square metre of soil area.

Dilution Rate – 1:100 litres of water (inject only)

 It should be considered that the price of the chemical is subjected to variations and it should be
borne by the client.
 The validity period of the quotation is one month.(Maximum validity period is 2 Months).
Prior to carrying out the treatment please ensure the following:

 All underground electric cables, water lines and/or any other cables and lines, of whatsoever nature, are
pointed out to our staff so as to ensure the safety of such underground cabled and/or lines.

We shall not bear any responsibility towards any inadvertent damage caused to electric cables, water
lines and/or any other cables and lines, of whatsoever nature, that have not been brought to the prior
notice of our staff.

 Soil is free from any timber, timber particles, large gravel etc.
 Soil is ready for concreting, i.e. is well filled and evenly compacted.
 Water and electricity is available at the site.

After completion of Stage 1 of the treatment please comply with the following in order to ensure optimal
protection:
 The concrete floor is completed soon after completion of Stage 1 and no later than 48 hours from
completion of Stage 1,

 All pens and/or wood panels are removed soon after levelling the concrete, and

 Stage 2 is commenced within 6 months, at the latest, from the completion of Stage 1.
After completion of Stage 1 and/or Stage 2 please comply with the following in order to ensure optimal
performance of the chemical and optimal protection from the treatment:
 There is no soil disturbance of the treated area/s, whatsoever,
 The soil type/s of the treated area/s is/are not altered in any manner whatsoever,
 New soil is not introduced to the treated area/s,
 The treated structure and/or area/s is/are not modified, altered or otherwise changed, and
 Reasonable measures are taken to eliminate faulty plumbing and/or leaks, dampness and condensation
from drains, gutters, toilets, down spouts, roofs, windows, ceilings etc.
 Service Warranty*
On successful completion of both Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the treatment and upon receipt of payment in full,**
we shall offer a Service Warranty for a period of 10 years from the date of completion of Stage 1 in respect of
the treated area/s.

If in the unlikely event you observe any termite activity within the said warranty period, please bring this to our
attention, in writing, and we shall take prompt remedial action with no additional cost to you.

Please note that the Service Warranty shall not be offered, in respect of this treatment, where:
 The concrete floor is not completed within 48 hours of the completion of Stage 1,
 All pens and/or wood panels are not removed soon after levelling the concrete,an
 Stage 2 is not completed within 6 months of the completion of Stage 1, or
 After the completion of Stage 1 and prior to the commencement of Stage 2, any one or more of
the following has occurred:

 there has been a soil disturbance of the treated area/s,


 the soil type/s of the treated area/s is/are altered in some manner,
 new soil has been introduced to the treated area/s,
 the treated structure and/or area/s is/are modified, altered or otherwise changed, and
 reasonable measures are taken to eliminate faulty plumbing and/or leaks, dampness and
condensation from drains, gutters, toilets, down spouts,roofs, windows, ceilings etc.

*For applicable general terms and conditions, please see the attached document titled “Service Warranty”.
** Where payment is made by cheque, receipt of payment shall be when the cheque is realized.
*** A Warranty Certificate shall be issued and dispatched via registered post where all applicable conditions
have been duly satisfied.

SERVICE WARRANTY
General Terms and Conditions
Coverage

 The Service Warranty covers only the treated area/s which shall be restricted to the square feet and areas as
identified in the Quotation Letter.

 The Service Warranty covers only termites and does not provide protection from or coverage of any other wood
destroying organism, insect or pest.

 The period of the Service Warranty is as contained in the attached Quotation letter and shall run from the date as
specified therein.

 The Service Warranty covers treatment of the re-infested area/s alone.


he Service Warranty does not cover replacement or repair of any damage, whatsoever, resulting from termite infestation.

Notification

 Notification of termite activity, within the warranty period, must be made promptly and in writing to Lankem
Ceylon PLC. Please always quote the reference number indicated on the Warranty Certificate issued to you.
The Service Warranty shall not apply where there is an unreasonable delay, on the part of the customer, in notifying any
termite activity and where due to such delay the re-infestation has spread.
Exclusions
The Service Warranty shall not apply in the following instances:

1. (1) where there has been a soil disturbance of the treated area/s, whatsoever;

2. (2) where new soil has been added to the treated area/s;

3. (3) where the soil type/s of the treated area/s has been altered in any manner whatsoever;

4. (4) where the treated structure and/or area has been modified, altered or otherwise changed;

5. (5) where re-infestation is caused due to the customer’s failure to take reasonable measures to eliminate faulty
plumbing and/or leaks, dampness and condensation from drains, gutters, toilets, down spouts, roofs, windows,
ceilings etc.; or

6. (6) where re-infestation results due to damage caused to the treated area/s by flood, earthquakes, fire,
hurricane, tornado or any other Acts of God.
7. Force Majeure
 Where Lankem’s performance of its obligations under the Service Warranty are prevented, restricted or interfered
with due to unforeseen events, such failure or non performance of its obligations shall be overlooked for so long as
the inability to so perform continues and such failure or non performance shall not constitute a default of the
Service Warranty or give rise to any claim for damages. Such unforeseen events shall include lock-outs, strikes or
other concerted acts of workmen, fire, flood, explosion, actions of elements, riots, sabotage, Acts of God, Acts of
Government, war or enemy action etc.

Governing Law

The Service Warranty shall be governed by the applicable laws of Sri Lanka.
