For an optimum protection of the CPK in combination with the different types of ATM’s, the
following settings needs to be selected:
- RD mode only for Diebold Opteva ATM’s with motorized card readers.
- RV mode for all other ATM’s with motorized card readers.
- (RS mode is only for ATM’s where the cards can be inserted on several ways when a CPK is
connected).

Mode selection, after 5 sec. the display shows you

“Conn.TSM Mode: RV” than again
after 5 sec. “Conn.TSM Mode: RS” and again after
5 sec. “Conn.TSM Mode: RD”.
These status messages are in a loop and changes
every 5 sec. which lasts for 1.5 min. before a TSM
error is displayed.
Wait until you see “Conn.TSM Mode: RV”
NOW CONNECT THE TSM TO THE MAINBOARD
OF THE CPK+.
If you selected the wrong mode, restart the
U U

ATM and follow the start up procedure again

from the beginning!

Redo the start up procedure when “TSM.dis.” appears on the CPK+ display.

Information about Mode selection RV / RD / RS can be found in the Installation

Manuals.

During the SDK Detection test the CPK+

will produce a few audible beeps.
When finished with the SDK testing
the Status on the CPK+ display is
“SDK 2 OK”
The TMD Utility will display the message
“sdk2 Ok-ddmmyy/hhmmss”

Door switch

The door switch has been developed to prevent false alarms during maintenance of the ATM.
When the ATM door is open the SDK is standby.
When the door is closed the SDK starts initializing again and audible beeps will be generated as
during the start-up!

+/- 2540 mV is the normal output of the

SDK Level Indicator.
When the door switch (door or cabinet)
is opened for maintenance the
environment is changing and the SDK
Level Indicator will give a fluctuating
output.

If the door switch is closed again the

SDK Level Indicator will first go to
0mV and then to a high mV output
before it re-calibrates.
In the picture a value of 4960mV is
shown.

When the SDK is finished calibrating

the value is again on the normal output
of +/- 2540mV, as shown on the picture.

the CPK+ is counting internally until the
alarm relay is switched.
Default alarm relay for Model 2 is 3min.
If the skim device is still solid attached
to the fascia and/ or bezel for 3min.
“SDK 2 DETECTED” will be displayed
on the CPK+ and in the status field

Functionality check CPK

This section describes how to quick check if the CPK is functioning correctly:

In case a CPK is not functioning at all first check step by step if the installation has been done correctly
conform the installation manual and if the CPK has been configured in the correct mode.
If the display of the CPK , and the control LEDS, do not give any indication, check if the CPK gets
power from the ATM. Causes could be ATM power down, defective power supply from ATM, defective
power cable to CPK as result from damage, or ATM does not get power from power socket.
In case the CPK gets power from its power cable but does not show any information , either on the
LED’s or display, the responsible person for maintaining the ATM is requested to contact TMD Security
for a solution.
When the CPK display indicates information on the LCD, a Laptop computer can be connected to the
CPK to use the Utility software to read the log file from the CPK.
The contents of the log file must be checked for the following messages:

The messages below indicate a problem with the CPK or TSM :

cpk1 Tdis

The cpk1 Tdis message appears on the CPK+ display when the TSM
appears to be disconnected. The CPK+ will block the power to the Card Reader.

Solution:

 Check if TSM is attached firmly and is connected.

 Check if the CSW loom is connected on the CSW micro switch.
 Do not force the TSM security switch!
If the problem persists, the responsible person for maintaining the ATM is requested to contact
TMD Security for a solution.

In case one of these messages appears in the log file the responsible person for maintaining
the ATM is requested to contact TMD Security for a solution.

These messages indicate a problem with one of the sensors of the CPK :

sdk2 err
sdk2 St.Er
tvk1 err
atk1 err

In case one of these messages appears in the log file the responsible person for maintaining
the ATM is requested to contact TMD Security for a solution.

Other messages that can indicate a problem are :

Version conflict on the LCD panel of the CPK : In this case an incorrect firmware file has been
downloaded in the CPK.

In case this message appears in the log file the responsible person for maintaining the ATM
is requested to contact TMD Security for a solution.

If the logfile contains csw ins or csw err messages, these messages are related to the card switch of
the card reader. Either a card was in the CES for a longer period or the card reader was replaced
without following the startup procedure correctly.

If the log file does not show any of these messages, but a problem still exists, you are requested to
send the log file together with description of the problem to

Support@TMDSecurity.com

Always include the serial number of the cpk in your email. When the cpk is still working the serial
