What do I need to get started

In order to run Ceedo and SafeConsole you will need
 A SafeConsole installed in your domain
 A SafeConsole EE or SafeConsole for Kingston license
 A network share available for all users (at least read permission)
 SafeConsoleReady drives connected to the SafeConsole
 The Ceedo install file for BlockMaster SafeConsole

How is Ceedo installed on my drives

The process
Ceedo is installed on the drives using the SafeConsole publisher. This means that there is no
need to manually install Ceedo on your drives. Publisher will send the Ceedo install to each
drive over the network. The installer will then extract the Ceedo system files to the storage
volume the drive.

How is it used
When Ceedo has been installed the user can launch Ceedo from their drive as soon as it is
unlocked. It will then be possible to use the Ceedo virtual environment anywhere directly
from the drive.

Autorun
With authorized autorun you can have Ceedo installed automatically when it is deployed.
Using this feature, Ceedo will also launch automatically for the end user when they unloch
their drive.

Self repair
If a user accidentally removes Ceedo from their drive it will be reinstalled next time the user
unlocks the drive with access to SafeConsole. The new Ceedo image will not contain the
users files saved in Ceedo though. For this we recommend the backup feature.

Setup
In SafeConsole
1. Activate publisher (please see the full manual for details)
2. Configure Authorized Autorun to:
{store-path}applications\ceedo\ceedobase.exe

Publisher
In the publisher folder on your network share, create a folder named ‘ceedo’ and place the
ceedobase.exe in this folder.

Connect your drive to SafeConsole

Install applications to Ceedo

Using Publisher in SafeConsole, you can also install applications to Ceedo from your central
server to all drives in your network. They will be picked up by Ceedo and installed as soon as
the user unlocks the drive and starts Ceedo

Install folder
By creating an install folder it will be possible to place setup files and launch the setup inside
the Ceedo container. The install folder should be named ‘install’ and be placed next to the
‘ceedo’ folder in the publisher folder.

Install trigger files

If the setup is not a Ceedo packaged setup file a trigger file will have to be created and
placed in the install folder. This will enable Ceedo to pick up the deployment and launch the
setup file.
Please create a txt file encoded as Unicode (best achieved by saving it with notepad and
choosing Unicode when saving).
In the text file, enter the following line:
%ceedodrive%\applications\install\yourinstallexe.exe

Known issues
FileRestrictor conflict
If FileRestrictor is active the installation of Ceedo may fail since some files being created by
the Ceedo installer will be blocked by FileRestrictor. Currently this means that the
FileRestrictor can only be activated after the Ceedo package has been deployed to all clients.
