About the Organisation
L&T Finance Holdings Limited is one of the top-performing Non-banking
financial institutions. The Company has a very huge variety of offerings including
Retail and Mid-Market Finance, which consists of rural products finance,
personal & vehicle finance, microfinance, housing finance, construction
equipment finance, loans and leases and loan against shares. It also has a
wholesale finance segment consists of the project as well as non-project corporate
finance to infra and non-infra companies majorly transportation roads, ports and
airports; telecom, and other non-infra segments. The Investment Management
segment consists of assets management of the mutual fund and private equity

Methodology Adopted
A set of 6 questions were prepared after taking appointment for telephonic
interview with Mr. Arpit & questions were prepared keeping in mind future
perspective, job role, competencies required, etc.
Job Description
1) Task: To understand working of all departments for the period of first five
months and then a particular department is allotted as per feedback of
superiors.
2) Technical Skills:
a. Good Hands-on on Microsoft Excel
b. Good Hands-on on Microsoft Word
c. Good Hands-on on Microsoft PowerPoint & should have good
presentation skills.
3) Knowledge: Individual should have a good amount of industry
knowledge. Expected to have basic knowledge of finance subject as of
corporate finance, Financial Accounting, etc.
4) Other Skills & Abilities:
a. Analytical Skills
b. Initiative Taker

c. Problem Solving Approach
d. Team work
e. Time Management, etc.

o Atleast an MBA
o Expertise in Excel: Pivot Table, Macros, other advanced tools
o Should be flexible to work with all department

• KNOWLEDGE:
o Qualification required is M.B.A. with any graduation background.
o Develop knowledge in area of finance as well as the Financial services
Industry
• SKILLS:
o Need to do advance courses on Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
Bring its usage into practice to get expertise in it.
o Need to develop corporate communication skills. And understand
corporate rubrics
• ABILITIES:
o Ability to analyse data
o Ability to attract clients
o Ability to take initiatives
o Ability to maintain coordination among the team members

Competency Mapping
It is a kind of process to analyse or evaluate key competencies for a job that helps
an individual to better understand the basic requirements of a job. While
interviewing Mr. Arpit I simultaneously did this exercise I asked him to just
simply answer the importance of the skills or abilities in terms of High, Medium
or Low.
Analytical High Medium Analytical skills plays very important role so its slightly
Low Level
Skills Level Level above medium proficiency level
Industry High Medium If a candidate is not well versed with the rubrics of the
Low Level company then he/she cannot grow in this industry
Knowledge Level Level
